California
New Jersey
Massachusetts

Can't help with the register thing, alothough I think Cali makes you, and NJ makes you register handguns...I believe.

Hawaii is a may issue state but don't let anyone have a CCW
10 rnd mag for any pistols etc..

NJ... while there are worse states... the overall experience in NJ depends on where you live.

You have to have a Firearms Purchase ID issued by the local municipality, or the state police. if you want a handgun, need a permit for each.

While I received my permits and FID in 32 days, there are other municipalities where people were waiting for over a year.

No handgun magazines over 15 rounds, no ak's, etc. no rifle magazines over 10, shotguns over 5?

Forget about CCW.

In Idaho, it's a misdemeanor to point a loaded gun at someone (other than self-defense, of course).

Damned anti-gun state.:D

so if not loaded, its totally ok?

I think here they would lock you up for life and label you a sex offender if you tried that. Heck, if you take your gun out in your house and your neighbor complains because he can see you in the window. =P

ny registers

Not sure NY is the most anti but all handguns are registered and amendments have to be added to permits before weapon is picked up.
NY is a may issue state but each county is different. I lived way upstate and getting an unrestricted permit was easy enough but did take about 6 months to get.

tennessee prohibits hunting game animals with fully automatic weapons.

have you ever driven through NYC with a few (LEGALLY OWNED) M4's, pistols, a machine gun or two, and some cans and a few thousand rounds of ammo locked up in the trunk on the way to a training class?

better than a cup of coffee, i tell ya. :uhoh:

no rifle magazines over 10
I don't know who's been proliferating this lately (seen it several times), but that's absolutely wrong. NJ prohibits any magazine over 15 rounds - doesn't matter what type of firearm. 15-round rifle magazines are perfectly legal.

As for shotguns, the only magazine restriction is on semi-autos (no mags over 6 rounds). No restriction on mags for pump-actions.

Don't get me wrong... we still suck. A lot. :cuss:

Illinois slips through a lot of the brady campaigns stipulations. I wouldnt want to live there for any reason.

Just out of curiosity do you know if 22's are exempt? Me and my buddies always joked that our 22's were illegal(with CBs they would hold 16/17)

maksim, 32 days is nice mine was almost 3 mos

California is probably worst when it comes to firearms restrictions.

However, self-defense is less restricted in California than many states.
