I'm getting into .223/5.56mm handloading after 15+ years loading for handguns. To that end I acquired the appropriate primers, powder, and bullets. I ordered some dies, shell holder, etc. from Graf's, such items not being available locally. This order was the last lot of stuff I needed to get started.
I got an e-mail earlier in the week reflecting that my package had shipped. The estimated delivery date was today. Well, I worked night shift last night (and I do again tonight), so I sleep during the day. I put a note on the door reflecting that fact and asking that the package be left on the porch in the event that no one answered the door. There are both a car and a truck in my driveway and the note. One would think that would be enough.
I woke up at 12:30 and went to check the porch for the package. No package, but a sticker reflecting attempted delivery and a message that they would try again tomorrow. They tried to deliver it at 12:20, when I was still asleep. I just missed them.
Generally this wouldn't be that big of a deal. However, I'm leaving for a friend's house tomorrow afternoon when I get up and I will be gone all weekend. We are going shooting on Saturday, and I was hoping to have some test loads assembled at that time. I might have time if I manage to get the package tomorrow to do a couple before I leave, but I doubt it. Besides, I was really looking forward to messing with my new .223 stuff when I got up this afternoon.
Generally I prefer FedEx to UPS. I always ship FedEx myself, but when I leave UPS a note asking them to leave a package, they do.
Sorry, just had to vent.
