Yet Another ABC News Attack On Gun Owners -it's for the children

I was called by a friend to watch it last night. He's as pro gun as I am. The show made me sick especially with the biased reporting. I think ABC and the Brady Campaign are one in the same. According to them only highly trained LEO's should protect us or should be allowed to handle guns because if any of the rest of us do we're sliding down a slippery slope. So wonder they didn't have an 800 number on after the show where we could turn everything in to rid ourselves of the danger.

Where I'm located in Upstate NY ( not 10 minutes North of NYC ) the real Upstate NY we don't have a sheriff department that answers calls. They only tend the county jail. So in our case living just South of the Adirondack Park we have only protection from the troopers. They could take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour to get here if we need them. Also we have no close neighbors. I wonder how ABC would advise us to protect ourselves? It's bad enough the CCW's issued here over the last 10 years or so are restricted including my son's. Ones before that have no restrictions. Our county is saying that you are not allowed the right of self defense when they restrict your permit. It doesn't make sense. If a holder of a restricted permit is harmed or killed in a situation where a gun could have protected them I hope the family sue the **** out of the county.

If someone were armed they may have stopped the Binghamton gun man sooner. Last night ABC tried to show us all that wouldn't work.

That's all, I could go on for hours but here on this forum we all are on the same page.

ABC, seeBS, NBC are all serious anti gun liberal controlled zealots interested only in ratings. Going to their sponsors is the best way to get their attention. IMO, they have no allegiance to the country, it safety, or its future. Rant off, wc

Gee, it’s the morning after the big 20/20 debacle, and everybody is looking for a way to hit back.

Well folks, maybe you will feel better if you understand what the situation really is. This is not the first time a leftist, urban-based television network has pulled off something like this, and it won’t be the last. But because we know how to respond in an effective manner, the ABC Network and 20/20 may get more grief then they handed out.

Why? Because what they presented, and the way they presented it, won’t stand up to critical examination. The show consisted of contrived presentations that didn’t have circumstances that have occurred in real life. In short, they say for example that if an armed student was in a classroom and someone entered and started shooting the events would come out a certain way; but they can’t point to an example where it did, because so far no school shooter has ever encountered armed resistances from anyone in the room. Hasn’t happened – anywhere. So what 20/20 showed was pure conjecture on their part. What we have here is pure propaganda, not news.

So can we nail ABC and 20/20? Probably not, at least directly. But we can go to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and file formal complaints against each and every television station that is an ABC affiliate.

To broadcast over the public airwaves they have to have a license from the FCC, and without it they are out of business. That license makes them (not the network) responsible for everything they send out on the airwaves, and carries an obligation to be sure it is truthful and fair to differing point of view – unless it is specifically identified to be an opinion piece or editorial. Even then it may be open to rebuttal from others.

In this context, all of the ABC affiliated stations have got a potentially serious problem this morning. If challenged, and they will be, they must convince the FCC that that pile of garbage 20/20 put out meets the Commission’s standards for news – and I don’t think they can do it. If they can’t some serious sanctions could come down on their heads.

So I have to ask, why the sudden rash of anti shows and reports?
Even before the last few shootings that made the national news, 60 min’s was in VA filming a gun show and the media was gearing up. Nancy Palosi and Holder have both talked about bringing back a ban. It is a message to ready their masses for the fight ahead. An agenda is already in place and the reason for all of this anti propaganda is the prep work before that train comes down the track, Nancy is driving and it is going to roll right over all of us. OR I am just a paranoid right wing nut cause the Gov. would never violate the Constitution.

I find it amusing that growing up running full tilt yelling bang bang yer dead, no yer not, yes too, not, yes and end up in a big old tussle into the dirt. Come home to upset parent who has to clean up the kid before dinner.

Hard to get fat, obese and lazy running around all the day back then.

I find it mildy amusing that the children are being told to stay away from real guns because it scares the parents, yet the same parents toss a video game into the child's cart that contains software built weapons with many military features to operate within the game world.
