I just got primers at the Lakeland, Florida Gun Show. Boy was I surprised!
I had just finished picking up a friend's order and taking it to my truck. His order included 2 cases of primers that they did not have.
I was looking for some .38 rounds when I heard the vender tell another customer that the only only primers that that they had were "down there in the green boxes".
I looked and they had WLRs Large Pistol, BR Rem Small Rifle and Small Pistol from Russia (unknown brand). They limited you to 1 case each so I bought 1 case of each.
I paid $200 each for a case of LPs and SRs and $150 for the Russian SPs. I know it was over priced a bit, but I was happy to get it.
Why it was still there 2-3 hours into the show I'll never know. I'd already given up all hope before I got there. I still need a case of LRs, but I still have a few. I was completely out of LPs.
Ammunition (.38, 9mm, .45) was there in abundance and went pretty fast. It was outrageously expensive. I did find my lead 230 grn RN and it was $40 per 500. Not too bad. No .380s. .38s were $45 per 100 even for white box and reloads. I didn't buy any at that price. I have both calibers but don't reload for either. My Wife carries the .38, so I don't shoot it much. The .380 is a dinner gun when when I can't conceal anything something bigger.
This is a real mess! I'm breathing a little easier now, but I won't be shooting as much until this loosens up a bit.
