Call these guys in St. Louis

http://www.alamomilitary.com/

"hole in the wall" shop. Don't be fooled. These guys go through a lot of quality guns, and the experience and knowledge these guys have is mind boggling. brought my Luger in for inspection here and they had it apart and knew the exact year, aftermarket additions....... in under 1 minute. unlike everyone else they didn't try to buy it from me, or trade me for its grips and magazines. Just straight dudes with more knowledge than we could ever hope to possess. Good luck with that pistol fellow new guy.

Born and raised in Montana where you can still own a gun for now.

Getting involved in the forums to help get more people involved.

Building a site to help narrow the need for gun research.

I'll take any suggestions you might have,

Thanks!!

Marlin Mod 39 with star

I've got some questions about this beaut: A Marlin Mod 39 with a star. Condition appears to be excellent in every way. Where would I find the serial number on this if there is one?

Hello im 20 from indiana and im looking to find the value of my sisters mother-in-laws Smith and Wesson .38 special if someone could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

I just recently turned 21 and i bought my first hand gun before i bought my first beer.
I only own a few guns, my first was a ruger 10/22, followed by a benelli super nova, an old Springfield single shot 16 gauge and tomorrow i can go pick up my new Beretta 92 Inox.

I'm also into reloading, i picked up a mec shotshell reloader from a garage sale and love it, and my dad got my a rockchucker press for my 21st birthday. I'm pretty much here to learn about reloading with that and get some advice

Hello all, Im new here, not so new anywhere else. NRA, USCCA, pro gun advocate from Florida. I am ex military and I guess now a member of the new threat to the US, radical right. I am getting my political career spooled up to go after the Chicago coalition of criminals. I believe its time to take back the country, get rid of the idea that militia is a dirty word, and figure out what part of "Infringed" don't thess yahoos understand.

I live in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a combat veteran OIF 06-08. I like shooting, football, and golf. I own a Springfield M1A Scout. I look forward to meeting some of you.

Thanks.

From Spain

Hi everybody!

I'm new here. I'm from Spain, and I'm very happy being part from this huge and friendly forum.

I love guns, although in Spain is too difficult and expensive to get a gun.

I have some american guns, such as:
A Browning Buckmark pistol with a 5'5" barrel (.22L.R.)
A Mossberg 500 shotgun (12 gauge)
A Marlin Camp (9mm)
and in some weeks I'll have a Ruger 10/22, one of mi favourites guns.

I also have:
An Astra Match revolver (Single Action in .38 S&W SPL.)
A CZ 452 bolt action carbine in .22L.R. (my first gun)
A CETME C in .307 Win, cause to stupid spanish laws.
Two spanish shotguns (A "Zabala" and a "Martín Ugarteburu", both in 12 gauge)
A Rossi Puma in .44Mag with 20" barrel (copy of Win'92)
A Destroyer Carbine in 9mmLargo (my favourite pistol cartridge)
and finally a Mauser Coruña mod-43 (spanish Mauser) from 1953 in 8mm Mauser.

I also like to reload for all my guns (except .22) and I do it with an american press: A fantastic RCBS Rock Chucker.
I'm improving my reloading bench, so I'll make pics for you as soon as posible.
I will also make pics of my guns!

Thanks for reading, and sorry for my english level.

See you,

I have been reading THS for about a year, getting some great information on guns that I am interested in - I am new to gun ownership, just bought my first one a year ago and now have 8. Also just got my CCP. I really enjoy target shooting & plinking but would like to get into hunting small game.

Hey

I'm a new member. I have never owned a gun before so I am new to this whole world of gun ownership. A recent spate of home invasions - close to my home - has resulted in the fact that I will be purchasing a gun within the next 7 days. Of course, I plan on getting the training and everything associated with it as well. I plan to be a safe gun owner - not Rambo, but able to defend myself.

Welcome NEWICK.

Is this what you are saying?

"I'm a New Member, Hello
Hey,
Other than a hunting rifle and a shotgun when I was young, I haven't seen a need for a gun until now. I think it's a good idea for every man to own one or two for protection, and I'm at point A. I'm going out gun hunting around Long Beach, and I hope I can find a nice handgun, maybe a Baretta. I know I need to register it, but beyond that I know nothing about what's necessary in the state of California, where I've lived for these past 22 years. I may ask some dumb questions, but I'll try to find my answers in prior postings, unless it means scrolling through hundreds of replies to get an answer.
My name's Dean."

Welcome Signal Hill Dad

California Law doesn't call it 'Registration'. There is just a record of handgun sales kept by the Calif. Department of Justice. Handgun purchases require a 'Handgun Safety Certificate' that you can get at any gun store. You can buy a pamphlet for a dollar and study or just take the HSC test and get the Certificate in the gun shop. For a small fee. Don't be felon, or under a domestic restraining order, a drug addict or an illegal alien or have renounced your citizenship and you're good to go. You'll need proof of residence like a car registration or utility bill. Check with your gun shop cause some are real fussy over what they accept for proof. Make your purchase, wait ten days (most gun shops call it 11 just to make sure) for the non-instant background check and cooling off period, so you don't murder someone in rage and then you can take home your gun and required gun lock. After you perform the required handgun safe handling demonstration. Nothing to it.

Don't even ask about the California Not Unsafe Handguns List, if your gun shop is selling it and they're not felons than it's on the list. And Not Unsafe.

I like the Beretta 92FS a lot. Haven't bought one yet but it's on the list. 9mm is about the cheapest ammo after .22LR so it's not too expensive to get lots of practice. Of course buying any ammo of any caliber is like an endless treasure hunt these last 6 months but it will eventually get better. Maybe.
