I would imagine that MidwayUSA has visibility into who's buying their stock, and they'd not allow their of staff to pillage and plunder the shelves.

It's likely that your product notification email was simply slow in arriving to you and faster in arriving to others.

I'm just wondering if there's some insider buying/hoarding going on.

Yes, there is hoarding going on. Yes, there is a sizeable shortage. Please do a search and you'll find a ton of threads discussing it.

wow primers sold out.. so much for me getting into reloading

Last week I went to the local gun show and found a dealer with several boxs of 1,000 primers. I asked how much and he said:

"Nine dollars a box."

Wow! that is less than half the $20 I paid for a box of 1,000 primers before the panic!

"I'l take a box" I said.

"That will be $90 plus tax he said."

WOAH! He meant nine dolars per box of 100 not a box of 1,000.

I put them back.

Be careful ordering primers or powder from Midway. They do not stock the items but contract with a distributor to drop ship to you. "In Stock" does not always mean the items are in stock. If you place a multiple item order and one item ends up not being in stock they will cancel your whole order.

By the time this happens, all of the items you wanted are out of stock. Ordering individual items is not practical due to the hazmat fees. Midway is great for many things, just not powder and primers.
