your gun collection have A theme?

After a multi year health issue that saw me selling a large part of my collection to eat. I now realize that I can count them in my head :fire:. Fortunately, I am back to being a productive member of society, and working on collecting one each of - EVERYTHING!

I'll let you know when I succeed. In the mean time see list below for current wish list.

My "theme" is good guns that I need or simply desire.

But they're good guns. I'd rather own a few and have quality, than own a arsenal of crap.

.

General theme?

Too many...

...themes that is.

Stevens 311s, Old original Winchester LAs, milsurp, S&W Hand Ejectors (want some topbreaks to go in with them to expand to just S&W), hunting tools, Mini-14s, .22lr plinkers...

Wyman

2 themes- Winchester shotguns and everything else. I do have a bunch of Military weapons.
M1 Garand
M1 Carbine
SMLE
2 Mausers
AR 15
1911
Beretta M9

I typically buy what ever I "need" at the time which means I walk around the entire gun show saying I "need" this about 15-20 guns before I settle on one I "need" more than the others lol.

Deadin--Wouldn't want to sell that revolving rifle would ya? A certain fellow collector needs one. Well I don't need it, but I want it!

4 Colt autos, 3 1911's, 2 stainless 5" in .45 and .38 super and a park finish compact .45 and a Mustang. I don't think that's a theme I just like them. The only theme I guess would be the hunting guns, 870, Rem 788 and ruger 10/22 (think cheap and effective).

General basics; CCW, home defense, hunting.

Other than that, my collection is geared towards performance-based firearms for competing in various shooting sports.

Branching off of the Winchester collection would be other military firearms with historical significance. Right now I have neither a .30-06 or a semi-auto rifle. What would be a semi-auto, chambered for .30-06 and have historical significance? The M1 or maybe even an M21 (are those able to be purchased by civilians?). It's on my wish list.

Theme - WW2 era Finnish rifles.
All are accurate and have an interesting history behind them.
Ammo, although about double what it was a year ago, is still relatively cheap and available at about 25 cents per round.

I also have a side collection of other WW2 era rifles. I don't actively seek for these rifles, they just show up! In other words, someone offers me a Garand for $300 or a M1917 for $180 and I just can't refuse!

rifles in odd calibers. 7.65x53, 338-378, .218 bee, .45-70, .458 lott, .224, .284 win. thats it for now.

My small accumulation of handguns is split between 2 "themes:"

1. Guns I chose (3)
2. Guns that chose me (6)

The first group are united in theme only by the fact that I wanted them enough to spend money for them.

The second group's unifying feature is sentiment - they were either left or given to me.

Just about every gun... no wait, every gun I own is a "service" type firearm, chambered in "service" type calibres. CZ P-01s and PCRs weigh in the heaviest, because I love them the most... then there is a quick and close tie between my FNPs and my MK9s.

I was kinda going for one of everything class wise but problem is I keep getting more class and less cash.

Got an old west class, two revolvers, lever rifle, coach gun.

ccw - taurus 945

black rifle - AK and Saiga 12.

SKS and MN 91/30 wouldn't mind the commie suite, the 91/30 fills my high power bolt action classification but still hanker for something much better.

Kinda got a WWII class with a 1911 and a P38. guess I need a tokarev which would also fall under commie sub class. Always want a nambu too.

22 class, ruger 22/45 and 10/22. these get the most shooting work out.

stuff I want

I seem to be drawn toward milsurp so a 1903 and a k98 to keep my mosin nagant company. Maybe an enfield but they are butt ugly. great guns but they make the russian rifle look graceful.

quality over and under for skeet and bird class

hunting a nice 30.06 bolt rifle. i think my marlin 1894CB would make a good deer rifle here in georgia. my commie guns would do too.

629 or 29. About as much hand gun as I can handle.

M14.

The theme of mine would be "My whims through time...."

There's nothing fancy there, just good ol' workaday firearms. The upper-crustiest of mine would be a K-frame revolver.

Some of 'em are worth a bit now because of collectable desireability but they were all originally medium- or low-priced.

A collection for the kids - mostly stuff that they may want and may not be able to get. Lots of different hicap pistols and EBRs.

And then the stuff I want to shoot/use regularly. That collection is pretty small; Auto5 shotguns, 1911 pistols, and a few rifles.

I'm generally an impulse buyer, so my gun collection mainly consists of things that were cool looking or cheap at a moment I had some money in my pocket, although some were gifts. I do have everything I "need" though, other than a .22 revolver, SxS shotgun, pistol caliber carbine, long range sniper rifle, .50bmg, and a true elephant gun. Other than those, I'm pretty happy with what I have.

Here's a pic of my handgun collection, minus a S&W 29-2 that was absent during picture time:

my "collection" currently consists of one gun, but I plan on making it an all black theme. Black guns are awesome. :)

Mine is all odds and ends. A couple of semi .22 rifles because they are fun, a Mosin for the fireball, 870 for social work, 700 in 7mm mag just in case a Moose mistakingly comes this far south, an ancient Winchester Model 20 that belonged to my gpaw (and its fun to shoot, too ;)), .44 mag wheelgun just because I can...some others, but these are probably my faves.

I don't own any evil black rifles at the moment, but I will again soon. I found myself getting into guns with wood furniture and away from the tactical stuff. I want to pick up my next 1911 (waiting for Friday), a Ruger Vaquero, and a Win 94 before I pick up any more tactical type weapons.

I guess if I had to describe my collection I would tell you that it's just stuff that struck a chord with me, so I got it.
