time for an air-rifle....

With ammo being challenging to find these days its time for everyone to add an airgun to their collection if they don't already have one! While the garden variety airgun/springer might not have the range or foot-pounds of energy a firearm does it does require you to do your part in hitting your target. And the ammo for these is still cheap and highly available!

And for you zombie hunters out there: the .177 and .22 cal might not drop a zombie with one shot but remember there are LARGE BORE airguns can do it with no problem :D

Here's what I sent him:

Hi there! I am THRILLED to see a round of .45 ACP for sale. I have a couple of questions:
1. Are you willing to pull it apart and let it go as components, I'd be willing to give you 600 alone for the large primer.
2. Can I get a discount if I already have my own bullet? I have a Jacketed Hollow Point from Hornady that I'd like to substitute for the FMJ round. This way, I figure I might be able to save a little on shipping as well.

THanks!

I found a place that has small rifle, large rifle, and pistol primers for sale.... am I a jerk if I go buy all the primers I can to try and swap for what I need?

I'd think a moment before I snap up those primers. You'll only be able to trade them face to face (ie, can't mail a HazMat, nor are you likely trained in doing the packaging / paperwork to legally ship them UPS)

Seen at gun show today.......couldn't believe it.

Was at he gun show today, saw a WW box of .380 ammo. 100 rounds, $99.99. He must have been concerned about someone stealing them because he only had the empty box on the table. He had a sign on there saying the ammo would be replaced in the box upon payment.

Tell me about it, I was seeing Federal .22LR Value Packs at today's gun show for $30. I paid $13.47 last week at Wal-Mart for the same ammo.

i keep seeing a guy on CL trying to sell 9mm fmj for 40 a box/50 and less if you buy 4 boxes or more..... glad i have 1500 fmj in 9mm from last year. wish i had more 357 than i do but have 800 or so 38 spl..

Friend of mine paid $50 a few weeks ago for WWB .380 100 round, and at that particular show, it was a bargain at that price.

What is the High Road on this??

Went to Wallmart and was talking to the person behind the gun counter. I was told that the gunshops have been haveing someone wait every day for the ammo deliveries to buy it for their shop.

Now I am all for capitalism but to see the ammo in the gunshops for double Wally world price makes me think of scalpers. Not a subject that endears people to talk about.

If you happen to be in Wally world in my area they have put up a sign that limits ammo purchases to 6 boxes. I saw Blazer brass 40 cal for $12.57 a box and they still had 10 boxes. I left it for the next guy.

What do you think about the scalping??

If I am a gunshop, I get my ammuntion from a distributor.

If I am a gunshop and I buy my ammuntion from walmart, drive it to my store and sell it for a markup profit.... Hmmmm.... trouble me thinks. Someone is going to account for the sales taxes on the ammo.

Once in a great while I will buy an item from a store owner (Not a gun store at all...) that has the item specfically labeled "From my personal collection" and not subject to his store rules.

I was glad to see wally world putting a limit of 6 boxes on. Might stop the scalpers some.

.380 What's the deal

.380 What's the deal No rumors or wild conspiracy ideas , why is it so dam hard to come by.

Just my opinion.....

.380 had come close to being an obscure round for a good while. Not many things chambered in it and not selling well. Then all of a sudden we had the CCW explosion and Bersa, KelTec and even Ruger jump on the .380 wagon, along with many others.

Then follow that with a general ammo shortage all the way around and the .380 seems to have been caught in a perfect storm to make it unobtainable.

I had also "heard" though not verified that the .380 is made on the same lines as the more popular 9mm. It just uses a short case/less powder.
If this is true, then I can see the mfgr. giving 9mm priority over .380.
