Remington 870 Police vs Express

I sell both in pretty good volume on a regular basis. To date I have not seen any polymer trigger groups on any 870Ps. That's not to say they haven't switched though.

About the only difference is the butt stock, trigger group, top of the P receiver is machined slightly differently, extractor, and of course the finish.

I'm told the mag. spring is different but I have seen them side by side and they look identical. I could be wrong of course but I see no obvious difference. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Remington does not order special springs for the Ps.

The Ps are supposed to undergo finer fitting and finish work along with greater function testing. I've seen 870s (25077) that were fit and function better than 870Ps, I've also seen 870Ps that were as smooth as glass and functioned perfectly along with roughly assembled 25077s.

At retail you're looking at about a $200 price difference. You have to decide which one will work for you.
They are identical with the noted exceptions, the 870P is crafted a little more with a better finish.
It's your call!!!!!

Well said hags !! It's been a bit of a sort out of sellers/dealers during the buying frenzy as to who to give your business to in the future and who will loose by their short sighted and seemingly unlimited opportunistic greed.
