Hey fellows,

I have the opportunity to evaluate the Kriss Super V CRB/SO. I've put up a couple of profile pictures at The Chronicles. The initial "field test" was limited to a box of ball ammo I had, but I'm hoping to burn a few hundred rounds next week with it, and we also have plans to do a little hog hunting with it.

I'll let you all know when I have more to show!

Best regards,
Albert

It's an interesting concept, but I can't help but be extremely doubtful of whether it decreases muzzle rise when using the stock. If you're trying to use it like a pistol, it's obvious. But with a stock...

I think it is because the bolt actually moves downward during recoil which promotes reduced muzzle climb instead of directly backwards, as in the other examples you posted?

I for one am interested in your evaluation. I see the KRISS on par with H and K's UMP, and as an alternative to an AR chambered in .45 auto.

I've seen them around gunbroker for around 1700. Still a pretty darned high price for a semi automatic pistol caliber carbine. And the 30 round Glock 21 mags designed for it are going for around 80 bucks each.

Doesn't mean I don't still want one, of course!

Not to spill any advance beans, so to speak, but it is a substantial "improvement" in the recoil impulse and muzzle rise. It is hard to believe unless you are there and doing it. Times like these make me wish I owned a digital video camera...

It's hard to believe anything until you experience if yourself. I feel the same as you about a lot of firearms, but the recoil mechanism was a distinct engineering pinnacle for kriss. The recoil system was the center point for the develpment of the QCB sub-machine. I'm going to have to go ahead and take their word for it on this one. Thumbs up for kriss! Great QCB option for SEAL and RECON teams even though the M4 Sopmod is just so versitile its tough to beat.

I still don't see how it matters in a semi-auto gun.

Pretty sure the Kriss offers full auto, two round burst, and semi auto. Anyways even if its a semi, less recoil means quicker target aquisition after a round has been spent, therfore quicker follow up shots, and more accurate as well. This would apply for any firearm in most any applications.

They are $1745 in base trim. With all the bells and whistles they are over $3000. 30 round mags are $59-$70 a piece.
