A reminder to keep it safe out there. These incidents are tragedies in and of themselves and trajedies for the 2A cause:(

Toddler Wounded in Accidental Shooting

A two-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot by her four-year-old brother at a local home. It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at a home near Jones and Oakey. Police say the girl was shot in the torso when the gun accidentally discharged after the boy got ahold of it. The family was home at the time of the incident. No charges have been filed, but police say it appears the gun was left unsecured in the house and the incident remains under investigation. It's the second accidental shooting incident involving a child here in the valley during the past week. On Monday night, a five-year-old boy died after he accidentally shot himself in the head with his father's gun while sitting in his car.

That's absolutely tragic, made moreso by how easily avoidable their deaths were. Thanks for posting the reminder to everyone.

Its unfortunate that there are so many adults that lack common sense. Many of us grew up with good Dad's that taught us good safety. I wonder how many are buying guns that don't have any safety training or common sense, an kids become victims?

Dang, these sorts of things make me sad. :(

The good news is that, as horrible as these incidents are, they are far less frequent in occurance than, say, toddlers left to die in a hot car or toddlers allowed to drown in unattended and/or unsecured pools.

Someone's going to twist this to support banning firearms. Of course they won't even think to mandate owning a safe or locked storage container before they bring up more gun control. These parents are just completely irresponsible.

The kind of parent that won't take responsibility for safety in the home will not be made to improve by legislated safety.
