But how many Senators today would want to be associated with her? How many states look to California as a good example for anything?

Does she want to destroy whatever individual rights she can? Yes. That's who and what she is.

Are people listening? Not so much.

People inside California don't realize it yet, but others just aren't looking to them for guidance. Furthermore, California is not a good example for the AWB supporters, since so many states with few firearms restrictions past Federal law, shall-issue CCW, etc., are safer and more pleasant places to live.

It was about Virgina having a gun show and its scary because it had loopholes that people could exploit, and some antis saying that nobody talks about "common sense" gun laws anymore because there not popular, then Feinstein whining about everyone's against her and the NRA has a "strangle hold" on congress and how she'll pick the time and place to bring back gun control.

I thought the first few minutes were actually unbiased though. It just talked about how the election and economy caused a huge increase in gun sales and ammo sales, but then it went down hill from there.

IMO, it is one more reason to oppose Government Health Care. Not necessarily health care reform, but certainly government run... Some of the liberal health care groups (I don't know the acronyms) have sponsored studies on the "cost of gun ownership" or something similar. Once the Government gets their hands on the health care system, they might have a lot more control than one thinks to be able to act without congressional authority.

Think about how some of the power given to the Attorney General (already) could be used today to make gun importation and sales impossible. Think about the trend of outsourcing.

SCOTUS would likely uphold that kind of "ban". Less government power. Don't be lulled, these are past masters of sneaking legislation on the unsuspecting American public.

Since, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Second Amendment is incorporated, many lawsuits have been filed challenging some of the gun laws in CA.

I only wish I had not watched it. I get too worked up over all that mindless gun control
crap. It was nothing but more of the same old stuff, ie, the AR ( evil assault rifle )
is the weapon of choice of ALL the gangbangers and drug dealers. The gun show loophole must be closed, etc.

I stopped watching "60 Minutes" when Mike Wallace did his expose' on gun shows.

That's the one they said prooved Bush was "AWOL." It had been xeroxed many times, but bloggers picked up that it was printed in a 2004 computer font, but supposedly was typed in 1973. Originally, Dan Rather claimed it had been "authenticated," and then later blustered that it might be a forgery, "but what it says is true."

Amen - I don't even bother with any new organizations other than Fox and the CW; occasionally BBC for world news.

I was headed out the door about 6:15 last night, but I thought I heard Leslie Stahl preaching in the other room about the Virginia Tech massacre and the "gun show loophole". (Not sure what those topics even have to do with each other, unless she was just doing her usual stream-of-consciousness "guns are bad" rant.)

I don't see why survivors of the massacre have not sued the pants off Virginia Tech. This is the classic anti-gun screwup -- "We won't protect you and you're not allowed to protect yourself."

What a shame the greatest country in the world, soon to be referred to as "ONCE THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD", would knowingly misinform their viewers. I take all so called news that is presented by the radio and TV stations with a grain of salt and I have also cancelled my local newspaper, the Palm Beach Post, subscription after over 30 years also because of their out and out twisted fact in their news articles.

A friend of mine used to say, "Ninety nine times out of a hundred, when you see something in the news, it's something you know nothing about. But now and then they'll slip up and try to tell you something you already know all about. And you can judge the 99% by the 1%."

And the news media fail the 1% test every time. The Rathergate scandal is only an example. Remember when NBC did a story on Ford gas tanks blowing up? They tried to duplicate it for TV, and finally put model rocket engines on the gas tank. Remember the CNN-TIME special on the US using nerve gas in Viet Nam?
