Which one is more durable, accurate and reliable?and best for SD/HD?

The CZ can do whatever the P226 can do, and probably better in some respects (accuracy).

And the CZ is all steel and less expensive. And you can carry a CZ cocked and locked.

My vote: The CZ

I have a CZ, but the SIG is such a good gun i've got to plug it. Too bad you could not cast 2 votes.

I prefer cz for a laundry list of personal reasons but sig makes great guns too. you already have the tough part over with and that is having good taste.

I have owned multiples of both. They are both fine pistols that will do well in any HD/SD situation.

The P226 is lighter, if you ever wind up carrying it. The CZ supports cocked-n-locked operation, in case you ever decide to use it.

Flip a coin. Better yet, shoot both (many metro-area ranges have rentals) and see which one 'speaks' to ya.

Like the sigs. Would own one if I could get it to fit me.

CZ's fit fine. Have a couple.

Either should suit fine. Depends on the one you feel the most comfortable with.

IMO Sigs are over rated. I mean nice guns for sure, but what does it do better for the extra money?

Then again, I think Lexus are over rated too. Bling doesn't impress me. I like more value to the buck.

I used to shoot a CZ75 and a CZ40B in USPSA and neither let me down. I remember the surprise I got at the one time either gun jammed and it was due to a defective round.

SIGs and CZs are my favorite pistolas...have both guns and it's a tough call!
First, regarding quality, reliability and accuracy, both are dead EQUAL!
Both guns are 25-30 years old and are the 'flagship' guns for both companies (the .45 P220 is also one for SIG).
Personally, the CZ 75B fits better and is the 'sleeker' of the two (for me) and would be my FIRST CHOICE... you can't beat CZs ergonomics (for me, NOTHING beats their P-01!!!) The P226 seems a bit bulkier... both BOTH are dead-on accurate!!
You really have to hold 'em both and shoot 'em both to make the decision that's right for YOU.
Also, the CZ 75B comes in both Manual Safety and the Decocker models. I have one of each but prefer the decocker in all my guns. The P226, comes in decocker only.
Also, price is a factor if money/budget is a concern. A CZ 75B can be had NIB for about $475... a SIG P226 NIB is about $750... that's almost a $300 difference and for ME, the SIG is definitely NOT $300 more gun. My 75B Stainless is one of the smoothest shoots I own... and a great target-gun!!
For my CCW/HD choice... it's neither. I go with a CZ P-01 and SIG P229 (both smaller).
Good luck... you won't go wrong with either choice!!

Let's do a check on both guns.

Accuracy? check
Durability? check
Reliability? check
Handling? check
Availability? check
Price? Now you do the checking.

Good luck.

Although CZs have been creeping up in price, there still a great value:) If you CC either gun, you will like the slim nose of the CZ better for IWB carry. Both guns have clubs for grips, so its a toss up there. Love my CZ75:D

I prefer the Sig 226..... it fits my hand better and is a point and shoot gun..... it has the right feel in my hand.....

Wrong, If i had the money I would go with CZ and a 1911. No need no for those over rated sigs.

I have both, have shot the crap out of both (several thousand rds out of both), carried the 226 as duty weapon for a long time, but would have carried the CZ if I were allowed to...long story short, if you want a 9mm or a .40 just pick which one fits your hand better neither is better than the other.

I'll tell you this about the CZ. It has some of the best shooting characteristics I've ever felt in a trigger and the shot and followup. It's hard to describe except to use the word buttery. It's a beautiful experience shooting the gun. I have a few guns with similar feel: my S&W 1911 and my Taurus PT92 AFS. If you've never fired a Taurus PT92, you owe it to yourself to fire one of the best pistols made, period. It is bigger than the CZ but has much the same trigger feel. Both the CZ and Taurus have much the feel of the 1911: big, stable, and incredible trigger pull and great recovery after each shot. The CZ75 and PT92 are so accurate that simple target shooting can become boring - but that's a good thing.

Wrong? that's all you can say? I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the original poster. I've seen CZ workmanship, I've seen Sig workmanship. Sorry, there's no comparison, day and night,

If we're talking an older, German P226, then Sig all the way IMO.

Much better fit and finish, no rough machine marks, better trigger and a bit lighter with the aluminum frame.

I'll give the CZ the nod in ergos, but nothing else.

if you're broke, you'll go with CZ. but if you have the money, most likely you'll go with the sig.
I had the funds to purchase either of these two fine guns. I took the CZ home because of it's ergonomics. It fits me better than any other gun I have. The Sig was nice, but it just didn't feel nearly as nice.

With about 1000 rounds through the CZ so far, I am confident I made a good choice.

The bottom line is that they are both perfectly fine. Choose the one that fits you.

I voted for the Sig in this poll, but only because I dislike safeties on guns. I also think that the standard CZ-75B is pretty ugly, but that is purely personal. Yes, I know looks don't really make a difference, but if I can get something that works just as well and it is nice to look at, why not?

Now, if it was between the Sig and a SP-01 with a decocker then I'd go with the CZ easily. Better ergonomics, looks, and 19 round mags.

Price no concern----SIG is better quality. Price a concern, CZ will do ok.
