Do 7.62x39 Saigas accept drums? Are there any proprietary Saiga drum mags?

Sorry if the answer to these questions are obvious; I thought as soon as I would search for it, hordes of topics would pop up. It seems they haven't.

So, I was wondering if my 7.62x39 Saiga could accept some reliable, functional drum mags - I was hoping something specific for the Saiga and not for another AK-type system that would require me to custom fit it into the mag well.

However, I've searched everywhere for "Saiga drum mags" and have yet to find anything.

Thanks in advance to all replies.

Is this an unconverted Saiga? If so I believe it would be illegal to use any magazine over 10 rounds or whatever the 922r compliance regulations are. (thus there will be no drums made for the Saiga since all the Saiga really is--is an AK modified for import into the USA).

If it is converted than I am sure it could just use a standard AK drum.

Nope. You can modify to accept AK mags, in which case you could use any AK drum. It's really not that hard to mod.

No, the Saigas are made for import compliance and no proprietary drums are available for the x39. You will have to modify AK type drums

You are either advocating violation of the 922r or advocating the ruination of an RPK drum mag.

The solution is to modify the Saiga to legally accept milsurp mags.

Yes it is converted, sorry I did not mention that.

The OP stated that his Saiga is converted so we can hopefully safely assume that his gun now has the proper compliance parts and is in compliance with 922r. If that is the case, then he should be good to go with using a drum.

Since he stated his gun was converted, then more than likely, his magwell and bullet guide have been modified and installed to take standard AK style mags so he would be able to use an unmodified drum.
