Stolen gun update-good news

A detective called me today and some of my stuff has been found. The gun is still missing but they found a mag with some of my other stuff. The mag had 3 rounds left(they only got 1 mag and its a 38 super) so the gun is basicaly useless now and he said they had a good lead on where the gun is. So maybe soon it will be back home!

In 1986 I had 23 guns stolen from my home. Three were recovered within 6 months and another 18 years later. The rest are still MIA. Python, Gold Cup, Diamondback, M27, M29, Luger... several rare and expensive rifles... my very first 22 rifle... I still ache.

I have only ever had 1 stolen and it was by an ex girlfriend.
Luckily her mom returned it before her new BF (a felony convicted LEO) got his hands on it.

Only 3 rounds left means it has been fired/ hopefully not used in a murder or it will be a longtime before you see it again.

Any one of us could convert one of the many ammo boxes that we have in our shops to something like this:

Connecting a box like this to a seat bracket with a cable connected or something like it may have prevented this whole incident.

I just got a call the police think they have recovered my gun. I am waiting for another call so I can go and identify it...........hope it is mine!

Well folks They do indeed have my 1911! It must be sent to the lab for testing as it was discharged today. Thats how they recovered it. I was told I could not look at it as it was sealed but the discription and serial number were good. I might have it back in as little as 4 months but probably 6-8 months.
