Hello all.

I recently bought a Romanian Tokarev. CAI puts that stupid thumb actuated safety RIGHT below the slide release.

Well to make a long story short I removed that retarded thing.

It appears that the safety they installed was interfering with the normal operation of the pistol. It would double fire, and when a mag was inserted it would unlock the slide. Since I have removed the thing all that cr@p stopped.

My question does anyone make a plug for the ugly hole left over? I was thinking of a low profile metal or rubber plug. If not I can deal with the hole.

Let me know everyone's thoughts.

Thanks.

I've seriously considered grinding off the external lever flush with the frame and just leaving the shaft to plug the hole. Someplace I saw where a guy made a shaft to perfectly fill the hole and retained it with internal E-clips. Another guy just welded up the hole, smoothed it down and reblued it.

What about expanding foam black earplugs cut down to be flush with the frame? That's like a $0.50 quick fix.

You can't just pour molten metal into the hole in the frame, because the safety comes into contact with the actual trigger group. I think that the rubber plug is a better option.
