My son really fell in love with my JK Anniversary knife that is my EDC. As you can tell it gets used a lot.

But at 6 1/2" OAL with a 3" blade it is a bit much for the pocket of a 10 year olds pants. Not to mention the price is a bit much too.

So I ordered him a slightly smaller knife. A JK Handmade Knives LDK (last ditch knife). This one has a 2" blade of 1/8" O1 and is 4 5/8" OAL. This one has had Indigo Diamondwood scales added to it, blue is his favorite color. And John stitched up a double pocket sheath with a matching firesteel for him.:)

I can't wait to see my son's face when I pick him up this weekend and give it to him.:D

I still have the Boy Scout pocket knife my father gave me 34 years ago. I now keep it in the safety deposit box at the bank. I'd be too heartbroken if I lost it.

He loves it...

After we got back...My son tried his new Ferro rod.

Only two strikes and the fluffed jute twine took a spark..

Cool, man!

I like seeing sons spend time with their dads, and I like seeing kids in todays modern world learning how to make fires and pointy sticks. Even at 37 years old, I like video games and my iPod and watching football, but I also like that I can make a fire without using matches, and that I can find, kill, process and cook over said fire an animal for food. Modern stuff is really awesome for the most part, but those primitive skills are more important than ever in todays society.

Plus, that really is a pretty cool little knife!

My son said.." We should have brought your shotgun" ;):D

Approved!

Heck, I wasn't even there and I'm grinnin' like it was my own idea.

That's seriously cool.

Wonder how many generations will hold that knife and accept induction into the "manhood" club.

Ya done great.

And I approve.
