i did go out and buy a new shotgun but then when i was duck hunting my canoe flipped.....
You are supposed to aim your punt gun off the front of your canoe, not the side! :p

Well, I cached my rifle up near my uncle's hunting cabin, since of course it would negligent to leave the guns in the cabin where they could be taken, and I loaded the coordinates into my GPS. And that GPS got stolen when my car was broken into so we have been looking for them every year when we go to the cabin...

Oh that one, wouldn't you know it fell out of my holster when I was reeling in a 41" king, yep hit the gunwale and dropped right over.

A little seriousness- if the worst should come to pass and "they" try to round the guns up- do you seriously believe that any excuse we could come up with to explain why we can't produce any gun that they claim we own will prevent a long and destructive search?

Anyway, I lost all my guns when I was on that vacation to see the volcano in Hawaii. Would you believe that my backpack with all my guns was on my back, and the straps broke? :)

Its a serious question and if it is ever asked you can bet that " they all got lost in the boating accident" won't fly.

Each is equally stupid as the other.
No reasonable person would ever really believe that you actually had a boating accident. Yeah, right
.
It could happen !!! here is the pic

It not only can happen, it did happen...TO ME. That was a bad day, gave up fishing and shooting after that.

Guns are bad. I didnt want them to end up on the street, so I sold my expensive collection to a NQA'd gun buyback. I got about four days worth of gas for my SUV.

Vietnam Tactic

Yeah, the military used that in Vietnam a lot.

The cargo? The cases of whiskey and steaks being sent to the general? They were on that chopper that went down:scrutiny: last week. Oh, yeah, and there was a whole bunch of other stuff on there that went on the same bird.

Let's see.... that chopper had six tons' worth of extra cargo on it, no surprise it was lost. Hard to imagine how it took off.

And of course, the Navy... well, remember that last storm where all that cargo got washed overboard? Gotta write off all that inventory, too....

And how do we know Clifford is not one of them..? My guns actually sank to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean during a tragic boating accident.

I refuse to share the details because then I would have an emotional and traumatic recurring flashback. :scrutiny:

There are states that allow FTF paperless transfers. Where I live the only requirements are residency and ability to legally own the firearm. Tracing the path of a firearm would be almost impossible, after the last owner with a FFL transfer. We need, no must, politely educate those that do not share our views as to why we need to maintain our second amendment rights. The stakes are at an all time high and probably will never get easier.:uhoh:

I don't understand this paranoia regarding LEO's and BATFE agents. A lot of my friends are LEO's, or are fathers of LEO's, and they are just average shmoes like me who like to shoot. For those who are trying to skirt the NFA, the cat-and-mouse game is going to catch up to them sooner or later. Don't like the law? Then support the organizations that are trying to change them.
Never heard of New Orleans post-Katrina? Are your LEO friends willing to tell their chief to pound sand when he orders them to go around confiscating guns?

Here's how green I am, I never realized it was a joke, I really thought these guys were out in the 'glades, having had a couple too many, turned the boat too hard and tipped it over.

But we did, we really did!!

My boat is a kyak, apparently I am a slow learner. I just can't seem to remember not to fire off the side, then I go over and the gun goes down and every time I buy a new one the same tragic accident occurs.

That there would be funny, if it weren't so scary true.

I wasn't in 'nam. But, I was in the middle east during the time of "Charlie's War". And, I pretty sure that's what was happening there.

Good for Afghani freedom fighters. But, maybe not so good for us a few years later.

From Evan PriceA little seriousness- if the worst should come to pass and "they" try to round the guns up- do you seriously believe that any excuse we could come up with to explain why we can't produce any gun that they claim we own will prevent a long and destructive search?

Like the zinc on a boat, I have "sacrificial" guns that are properly documented.

They might, but then again I hope to never face a post-Katrina situation. I am not implying that all orders in such extraordinary circumstances were logical, rational or even legal, but I wouldn't want to paint such a broad brush of the law enforcement community. Sure, there are some ill-intentioned malcontents who wear a badge (which also holds true for every profession), but again most LEO's are hard-working and honest shmoes like the rest of us.

Jjohnson:

Still happens, roads in Iraq are not good, when we were escorting army truckers (not civi) it was easier to write off a palate of stuff than try to explain why 3 cases were missing, any hoo, my platoon got some great stuff, and the chow hall loved them, what, lost a load of steak going to Bagdad, shucks have to change the menu...

Chcx2744, trust me LEO I'm not!

This is why I try to buy from private party's. The fewer weapons I have to "report" the better.
