Nail polish works pretty good and there are an almost unlimited number colors to choose from. Clean the surface first with acetone or gun scrubber to remove any oil. A couple coats of clear nail polish over the color of your choice will make it last much longer.

Thanks! I've been looking for something to do with with on my 1911 I will soon have, those pens are perfect.

I have used a bright red china marker. They also come in white. Works well, and lasted a long time.

Rubbed it on until the lines on the sight were completely covered.

I bought a bottle of cheapo bright white nail polish from walmart. Its on the GI front site of my 1911 and the front sight of my revolvers. It helps my old eyes something fierce.

+1 for nail polish. Seems to stay on better than all those expensive gun sight paints.

Enamel model airplane paint. I use either white or a base coat of white with orange on top of that. White Testor's paint markers work very well.

Clean with carb cleaner. Use a couple of coats of white lacquer. Finally a coat of dayglo orange semigloss. The lobster fishermen use it to paint the bouys with around these parts and it stays on well. To remove soak in lacquer thinner or more carb cleaner. Also helps to etch a U or square notch just inside notch of rear site and fill with white lacquer. All mine are done this way.:D

Degrease sight blade wth rubbing alcohol. Add a dab of white out. Dab of acryllic craft paint in neon red. Have used orange highlighter too.
