I've had this stainless knight LK-93 realtere stocked rifle since 1997. I have been shooting pyrodex pellets 90 grains, and 260 grain winchester silvertips SXT (I stocked up long ago) and it groups very well at 100 yards. Under 2 inches from the bench. Anyways my question is can I use triple 7 powder in this rifle and will my no. 11 cap ignite loose triple 7? Time is tight for me with a 1 and a 4 year old at home and need to cut down on cleaning time cuz lil ones are daddy home and want to climb on me like monkeys in trees! So any time I can put off cleaning until time allows for it would be a plus! Tell me about your triple 7 experiences!

777 ignites just fine.
Load 15% less volume for an equivalent load according to Hodgdon.
It seems to have more felt recoil than most other powders so I only use it in smaller caliber guns to cut down on fouling.
But lots of inline shooters use it and like it for hunting and target shooting.
I also like the older inlines that use #11 caps and have never felt that ignition was hindered.

Thanks! I just picked up a pound of it and some magnum 11 caps! Thanks again. Ill do some testing this weekend after I try to cap a deer. Still have a load in the rifle!

I sometimes load it in my .45-70 cartridges.I think the Hodgdon website's 15% estimate may be a bit low. That's barky stuff ... nice and clean burning, too.

Yea! The load data on the bottle shows 2100 fps with a 260 grain bullet!! I may consider changing to a spitzer like the SST. Ill have to see what works with my twist rate! Should have done this over the summer instead of season!
