i have a stoeger model 2000 with a 8 round extension and i have never had an issue with the gun until recently but i cant tell if my theory is correct or not as im having a damn hard time finding anything more than birdshot. SO i bought a 100round bird shot pack from wally world and my auto wont eject the rounds, i put 1 round of buckshot in it that i had and it fired, cycled the next round of birdshot & again it refused to eject it *manually it worked fine* so my question is has any1 had light loads from a value pack like this? or should i be concerned its alittle more of an issue?

I'd almost be willing to bet a paycheck that it's the ammo. Is the Stoeger 2000 gas operated or recoil operated? Some gas guns have an adjustment for lighter or heavy loads. If it's recoil operated you're probably out of luck.

Well, the Stoeger model 2000 is inertia operated sort of like a Benelli.
Stoeger claims the gun will operate "with any load from 3 Dram 1-1/8 ounce field and target loads to the heaviest 3” waterfowl loads without adjustments".

Unless your value pack is lighter then 3 dram 1 1/8oz, or else 1 oz loads, it should work with them.

Try cleaning & oiling it and make sure you hold it firmly against your shoulder and it is supposed to work.

Was it the Winchester bulk pack?

I've had issues with that ammo in more than one gun. If it is the Win bulk pack, try the federal or if you plan on reloading the Remingtons. Otherwise, give the gun a good cleaning and lube.

Winchester bulk pack is crap. It even jams a lot of 870s.

Other stuff should be fine. Decent-quality 3 Dram 1 1/8 oz. should cycle a Stoeger.

i will have to wait till the shops around here get some ammo in then and try it. my GF said it was functioning like crap in her Charles Daly pump so its gotta be the ammo

Two thoughts:

Number one: Page 6, 9, and 18 of the owner's manual states that the 2000 will cycle 1 oz loads. Mine does, even 7/8 oz.

Number two: Winchester promos are problem children. Remington, though good ammo, has terribly hard primers. I like Federal ammo. Soft primers, good quality.

Or try a box of GOOD quality target loads - Winchester AA, Remington STS, Federal Gold Medal. AA and STS are available at the local wally world

Yes. Just be advised that there are some low-recoil loads that say "will not cycle in most semiautos" right on the box.

Get Sporting Clays or Nitro 27 loads, one box of AA or STS. Shoot that. If it works fine, then it's the ammo for sure.

That said, the Benelli requires a break-in. The company even says so. I'm sure so does a Stoeger, with the same basic design (both companies are Beretta subsidiaries).

my sx3 did not like that ammo until the gun was broken in with heavy loads. now its not a problem. how many rounds have you put through it?

ive put around 500 rounds through it, cycling between 00 buck and bird shot. so it should be broke in, rumor has it wally world has some small game loads in, im going to snag a box :) ALSO would having a b-square scope mount effect it?

Improper mounting could cause problems. Ive heard hints that if you weigh the gun down enough with tacticool crap that could hinder operation as well but I dont have anyhting to substantiate that with.

250 rounds of buck is alot of basic break in. You should be good to go. I applied the AK-47 principle and broke mine in bone dry, no oil. Everything is nice and loose now and it runs fine with some CLP.

You never specified what load weight and velocity you were shooting from your cheapie 100 pack?

That makes sense with a short-recoil design, since the operation is dependent on the gun's motion under recoil.

However, that looks like a pretty lightweight setup, and with a shorter-than-sporter barrel, should still work fine. But I'm guessing.

I would rethink the weight (loaded) of the gun. 8 extra shells plus the tube and whatever else adds a signifigant amount of weight.

well i put the short tube on it and its still doing it, i will check the load when i get home i know its the standard value pack from wally world. im really thinking it will work once i get the different rounds but like i said in a earlier post, they functioned like **** in my gf's pump she said they kept hanging up in it. ALSO the scope mount weighs less than 28oz. and less that 1lb with the sight. and its 1 pin installation. i hope to god i cant mess that up lol

Is the scope base attached with screws?

If so, take the bolt out and check to see if a too-long screw is sticking through the top of the receiver and rubbing on the bolt.

+1 to Federal "value pack" 100-round boxes of birdshot, (3 dram 1 1/8 oz load, 7 1/2 shot).

This is the lightest stuff that will reliably cycle in my Saiga-12. It works fine.. but the el cheapo Winchester does not.

Check to make sure the saddle mount is not "too tight" because it can cause the reciever to pinch and then the bolt to slow.

I too would bet it is just bad ammo. Most all the Wally-world special ammo is questionable at best.

Winchester bulk pack is crap. It even jams a lot of 870s.

+1 I have seen more than one gun clear up its jamming issue by switching to the Federal bulk packs. The Federal is the same price and in my experience better ammo.

its 1 screw and its in place on the pin that holds the trigger group together, i didnt get to buy ammo today as i got roped into buying a bed....
