I've been a member for a while, and thought I would introduce myself.

I just moved to a "shall-issue" state from Maryland and intend to apply for CCW. Have experience with handguns and long guns, for defense, competition, and collection, and am always eager to expand my knowledge. I can't think of a better addition to my usual sources than "The High Road," which has more than a few highly knowledgeable and experienced members, impressively diverse in background and current activities, and some group moderators who are unsurpassed in keeping threads on point and on...the high road.

New guy from Florida

Hi all,
Just joined today. Have a Llama Micromax .380, Taurus PT111, S&W SW40VE and a EAA Windicator .357 Mag. Looking at a Glock Model 30 today at Gander for $399. Wondering if there's ANY reason I shouldn't at that price.

Hello everyone,

Joined a month or so ago when my interest in obtaining a firearm for home defense increased. Just tired of hearing personal accounts of break in's, some into occupied homes, and thankfully to date no one I know has been hurt physically....although emotionally is probably a different story.

I do travel through a "rougher" part of town to work and back, but living in Wisconsin limits my ability to defend, and no incidents to date.

But anyways, I intend to purchase my first firearm in the near future. My only experience was firing a rifle (a 22 maybe??) on my grandfather's farm when I was a kid. I do have small children, so safety is definitely on the top of my list. If anyone in the Milwaukee area has suggestions as to a recommended gun shop/range or safety classes, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

Hello all, I'm a 52 year old male (In Mid Life Crisis...lol) who was looking for something else to do besides sit at the cigar lounge with my smoking buddies. A few weeks back I bought a Springfield XD .45acp 4" Service w/Thumb Safety. Went to the range with a X Sherriff smoking buddy and am now forever hooked. Just picked up a 1986 CZ 82 9x18mm Makarov in Excellent conditionand am looking forward to some range time with that as well. (.45acp are over .50 in the Chicago Burbs) Mak's around .20 I can shoot a ton more this way and I need all the practice I can get.

Hello from San Antonio, I joined this forum a few weeks ago and never really introduced myself. I have a 91/30 Nagant, Mossberg ATR 100 30-06, Ruger 10/22, Yugo SKS, Mossberg 500 special purpose 20'', Mossberg 500 24'' and a Remington 870 Magnum. I'm looking at getting more shotguns, I like them :) And maybe some lever action rifles.

I joined a couple weeks ago. Always wanted a lever action and bought 39A in October 06. Joined local indoor club and shot a couple times. I got around to visiiting another club in our area and found an interest in Shooting iron Silhouette. Was asked to join them on Monday eve's for indoor paper chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams as winter season. I joined the new club and we went outdoor Silhouette as Class B hunter class with goal to become Class A by Sept end. I participated in our State tournament in July and came in third class B. Had a tie for 2nd and lost in tie breaker. I made Class A, September 17th just before season ended. In July, I also bought a S&W 22A pistol to shoot iron sight Silhouette. My rifle is at the gunsmith for trigger work down to 2.5lbs which should me into AA class in 2010. Gunsmith is also bore sighting my new 6.5-21 scope w turents. If you have an opportunity to join a club in your area, you will find many friends, help, advise, and show you how to spend money! If I had the money, I'd join the Cowboy Action group. THR has a wealth of information which I thank them for. I plan to be a contributor as I gain more knowledge.

Hello I just joined about five minutes ago. ARFCOM was the first online community I have ever joined and then it was CALGUNS.

Everytime I would google a firearm related question THR would usually have the best answer so here I am.
My love for firearms started when I was five and my grandfather took me out and let me shoot his .22lr Over and under pistol (dont know the make/model) . Well since then I have always loved firearms. I bought my fire gun on my 18th birthday it is a stevens m200 300winmag w/ a harris bipod and a nikon buckmaster 3-9x. I have 7 rifles now everything from mosins to AR to leverguns. On my 21 birthday I bought a xd9 service and it is my only pistol at the moment (saving for a kember desert warrior though :) ).

like teetertotter said "I plan to be a contributor as I gain more knowledge."

thanks,

Xero

Just joined moments ago. Joined USMC, March 1968, sent to Vietnam. Quang Nam province south of DaNang. President LBJ's son-in-law (Charles Robb of the Robb Report) was our CO. Wounded by AK-47 and hand grenade shrapnel while in night ambush in foothills. Since that day I haven't even thought about a gun until about a year ago when I bought a S&W 9mm Semi, Sigma Model. Didn't do enough investigation to find the correct handgun for my needs. I have a concealed carry license but the wrong handgun.
Hoping to learn what is right for me for personal defense, home & carry. Also need to find ammo for 9mm. I think I need JHP, +P, 115 grain, correct?

Greetings.

I am a 46 year old Libertarian gun advocate who is sick and tired of watching the slow erosion of our liberties. I became active in the political process some time ago and remain so today.

I have a 9mm Kel-tec PF-9, .223, .25 auto and a Ruger 10-22. My daughter and I enjoy going to the range and practicing our skill sets when we have the time.

While not an expert on firearms by any measure, I am enthusiastic about them and have become well acquainted with the weapons I own.

I have lurked on this forum for many months now and decided i would jump into the fray.

Hello

Greetings from Atlanta, GA. I'm a bird and deer hunter. My recent interest is handgun hunting. I would be better at it if my shooting were better. Just starting to learn a bit about ballistics.
