I went out shooting last weekend, taking three 22 long rifles. The CCI bullets I picked up at Wallyworld the day before. Every 2-3 shots out of 4 misfired. Has anyone else have this problem with that brand?

Which CCI?

They usually cost more than I want to spend for .22. 2-3 out of four seems excessive for any brand ever. Make sure crud is not blocking your firing pin.

Ive never had a misfire with any CCI rimfire round. The are supposed to be among the best and most relable rimfire ammunition you can get.

I would guess either the ammunition was just mishandled and exposed so something at the walmart which caused it to go bad, or it was some problem with the specific gun(s) you were using.

In the past, I haven't had problems with the brand but it's been a while sine I used 22 rifles. Last weekend I also took some shot load in 22 lr, they shot without a problem in the 3 guns, so it wasn't a firing pin issue.

50 to 75% failure rate is a "bit" high to put it mildly. I think the problem may be with your rifle. Try a different box of CCI ammo. Clean your gun. Try a different gun. Experiment. You seldom get ANY ftf's with CCI high velocity 22 ammo.

When all else fails, shoot Remington Thunderbolts! :)

I don't believe I've ever had a mini mag misfire. Most others ...yes. Mini mag and Stingers...no.

Maybe your firing pin spring needs a cleaning?

I think I have only had 1 FTF with CCI Mini mags or CCI CB Longs. And that one was w/ the CB Longs and I just picked up the round, put it in the chamber and it worked the second time. Most .22 LR I have shot has been consistent except for Federal Bulk pack but that wasn't bad either.

Guess I'm just lucky.

has to be the gun, sometimes the semi-auto .22lr get so fouled up the trigger doesnt hit the bullet rim hard enough. clean it up real good and try it again make sure the inside of the bolt carrier where it strikes the rim of the bullet is clean , maybe check the spring.

I would expect that kind of misfire rate for that steel-case Russian 22LR stuff that was around some years back. CCI Blazer is quite reliable too, though they seem to have changed the bullet coating.

Since you said it worked with some shotshell loads, it probably isn't the gun. I'd contact CCI and see what happens. Everybody makes a bad lot from time to time, very least I expect they will replace your ammo.

I don't think its the guns, since I had the same result in 3 different rifles and the shot shells were fine. I might have bought a bad batch of bullets at the store. I just needed to check on quality control, since it has been a while since I had shot.
