Just heard on local radio show. This weekend, Ft Pierce gun show. I have never been to one in Ft Pierce, only Miami, Broward and Palm Beach. I have stated my opinions on gun shows in the past. I found them a surreal exercise in futility at best. But perhaps Ft Pierce will be different. I like the "Fort," part, Forts were always a safe haven for the downtrodden and road weary warrior. "Sounded good", so has anyone been to the Fort Pierce gun show. And is it as bad as the other Suncoast shows? Is that even possible? They claim 300 tables. Anyone want to meet up there and search for the Grail?

Fort Pierce is named after a post-Civil War General, and was originally sited on the Indian River (IntraCoastal Waterway) east of the present-day city namesake. The site of the original fort is now a small park, quaint and cozy, but it bears no remains of the original installation.
The Fort Pierce Gun Show is a SunCoast production. The venue at which it is being hosted is brand new, rebuilt to replace the county's old civic center, which was destroyed in the 2004 hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. I plan to go, as I live in the area, mostly to check out the new center as well as the stuff.
The one earlier this year (January, I think?) in Port Saint Lucie's new civic center, just to the south, wasn't bad at all..

Not a bad show I like the one in West Palm better. One good thing for people without a CWP is there is no waiting period in St. Lucie County. It’s about 45min north of me but I’ll probably go and take something to sell or trade

Thanks, Saturday for me also, wife is working so it sounds like something good to do.

This is the first time that I have a weekend off that co-incides with a local gun show.
I have always wanted to go see what it is all about.
I very likely will head up there on Sat after lunch - coming up from Stuart - so not too far to drive. :)

Yes I am going to tryg to make it around noon also. I may take a rifle with me that's been sitting aroud for 30 years, so if you see a guy with a ruger 10/22, and gray hair it may be me. But there may be other guys there with grey hair and rugers, lol

First post. Did a search for the Ft Pierce Gunshow and found this Forum. I just purchased a minty 1937 Kreigoff Luger complete matching complete rig, 2 matching mags #7932 with dated and Kreighoof proofed holster. Ill be at the Ft Pierce show carrying the luger in a black material gun holder. Just ask for Eric. Bill who checks the guns can point me out. Hope to meet new friends.

The show was ok, clean, and a lot of guns, I sold my 10/22 almost immediately on entering. There were some decent model 19, 357 magnums from a private booth, they were gorgeous guns, he was asking $575 for 2 of them, and one was new, never fired. I also saw some nice revolvers from a second guy who also had some nice Smith's, Colts, Diamondbacks, and Pythons and the like, also some nice 45 pistols some limited series guns. All in all the old guns were there to be dealt down, but the new stuff was over the top. Shotguns and AR's were all overpriced. The guy was telling me I was asking him to sell below his cost. Which is a typical bullxxx line at shows. Some of us know what this stuff costs, or darn close to it, I know he had the gun marked up almost 35%, and I know everyone has to eat, but 20% over on a new low end HD shotgun is my limit. Then those Sigs, that new 380 sig that I have seen around for $500, was $6-700.00. And I saw 380 kel tecs marked at 350.00 lowest was 275.00 plus tax, So bring your shovel if you go. There was plenty of ammo, and I was able to pick up hydra shocks for my 40 and 45's and a nice Task holster. All in all a good way to spend the afternoon.

CHECK THIS OUT!! Ken Mascara is our St Lucie County Sheriff and a good friend. He was at the show this afternoon when one of his plain clothes deputies was approached be an individual offered to sell a full auto OOZI , Hi deputy said he wanted it but had to go inside to get cash from a friend. He grabbed the first undercover ATF Officer to escort Him outside and promptly arrested this individual. Ill see Sheriff Mascara tommorow and get the details. How stupid could he be. I don't know if they leak the undercover action to the press.

That's funny, I must have been right there as I was talking to the guy seated at the door trying to get a cell connection. What a genius, how could anyone be that stupid? Is the sherriff a big fella with brown hair?

Must explain why there were six marked units outside when I left, when there were two when I arrived..
Sheriff Mascara is of average build, with black hair and a mustache. He's a pleasant-looking guy, maybe goes 200 or a little less (the last time I saw him, which was not today.)
I didn't really have anything in mind to buy when I got there, but was pleased with the fact that many of the dealers were not overpricing their wares. Some were, though. I eneded up only buying a couple boxes of CCI Mini-Mags I'd been looking for, for about half of what the guy at the very next table wanted...

Yes Ken is tall, good lloking with a mustache. Yea I figured out how to post. This I took yesterday at breakfest.
