Took it yesterday youth rifle weekend Hamilton co Texas. Shot was a little back but the .243 did job just fine at about 70 yards. Couldn't be prouder. Only 2 regrets not taking more pics and just turning deer hunting into something that costs twice as much;). Oh well I can handle both.

Congrats to you and the young lady. Great post the extra $ you'll spend on hunting in the future is well worth it.

Oh I know but I do think I started I might not be able to keep up with. All she can talk about is the next one.

It's still cheap at twice the price. :D

Congratulations to both of you,

Way to go!! I hope my son gets his first one this year too.
I hope so too. it was a very rewarding feeling when she gave a big ole hug afterwards like ones she used to give me when she was younger. Man I tell you I may have been happier than her right after the shot rang out. Once we recovered it though she was on top of the world. Yesterday she got a little congrats message from Bonnie McFerrin who was on dream season. That was pretty cool for her to a woman in the public eye that she has seen on tv multiple times taking the time to give her a pat on the back.
And if you wait a year and she'll be outshooting you every time. ha ha

She is a pretty good shot now but it won't be long before she is I am sure. It's was also pretty cool that immiediately after the shot she said dad I think I hit a little far back, becuase I kind of flinched. I thought man the girl is going to be good.
