@ DasFriek

Congrats on the upcoming purchase.

As for the mags, it really depends on your hands and how you feel comfortable shooting it.

I have medium to largish hand. The 7 and 8 round mags feel best to me. The 6 round leaves my pinky hanging and while I have CCW firearms that I tolerate that on (P3AT in particular), I didn't care for it on the PPS. I may still pick up a 6 round mag at some point simply for greater concealability depending on the situation.

Post your review of the PPS as well once you pick it up. The more reviews/info on a firearm the better.

Ill be sure to post a report on it.
My Sig p238 is a 2 finger gun also, and its perfectly fine like that. But i wouldn't mind picking up a Colt Mustang mag that has the finger extension since they are interchangeable.
You think a 6 round mag will let it fit in my rear pocket? My P238 has a bunch of room left over in the pocket when i carry it.Enough that ive carried a spare 1911 8 round mag with it.

I gotta admit tho a 6 round mag with a 2 finger grip on a 9mm shooting +p may not end well.
But if it sucks up recoil like my small .380 does it may not be an issue as the PPS is a big larger and heavier.

Saturday will take forever getting here, its always like that when i buy a gun as i have no patience what so ever.

Ain't it the truth. Anticipation is part of the fun.

It may fit in your back pocket with the smaller mag. Depends on your pocket size.

I don't think you'll have any trouble holding it with the 6 round mag, so it's just a question of comfort and maybe accuracy for the individual.

I think you'll be pleasantly suprised with the 6 round mag. I actually shhot it as accurately and almost as fast as the others. And even with +p its very comfortable.

DasFriek. shooting the hot loads with the 6-round mag is not a problem for me.
It makes a big difference in conceal-ability compared to the 7x.
Personally, I pack my PPS with the 6x in and an 8x for a reload, as I stated above, I shoot with the 6x so much that my groups spread out with anything else.

Smith & Wesson is only the importer and distributor, Walther PPS's are made entirely in Germany.

Congrats on your New Smith & Wesson

The only thing Smith & Wesson about the PPS is the excellent customer service that comes with it. The gun is 100% Walther.

What he said.
S&W may be driving the 1 magazine policy, but otherwise the PPS is 100% Walther, with very little Umarex taint

Oh believe me, if this were really a S&W, I wouldn't have purchased it.

I made that mistake with the SW99 Compact several years ago. Sold it a few months after owning it. I actually had the chance to shoot a real Walther P99 and it is like shooting a completely different gun.

So I made double sure that the Walther PPS was truly a Walther. Only thing S&W about it stamp on the front.

The PPS is the real deal. Some of the other guns being marketed these days with Walther banners, like the P22 and the PK380, are another kettle of carp entirely. But the PPS is rock-solid. Don't leave home without it, in fact ... or unless you have a P99. :)

Just picked up my PPS in .40 on Monday. Haven't shot it yet, but I can echo the annoyances at having only one mag. I get that it's a carry gun and I don't always carry a reload, but I DO ALWAYS carry a reload in my car.

I have a 6 rounder with a mini-pinky extender. If anyone wants to trade for a 7 rounder :D

Congrats on your New Smith & Wesson

I dont care who makes any gun i buy,heck i own 2 Taurus's also.
Thats kind of like saying "Grats on your new RIA,when you buy an STI spartan"

I think i will pop for the 6 rounder, and keep the 7 as a spare for range duty tho.

While I prefer shooting with the seven round mag I have found that with the six rounder if I wrap my pinky under the mag I can shoot just as well. The best thing is that the seven round mag adds length that is pretty much negligible.

Overall I think that the PPS is one of the very finest handguns ever produced.

Any idea how much the IWB custom holsters would be or should I just google it? Like I said, my Galco P220 Compact holster actually works amazingly well. Aside from being about a half inch or so longer than the PPS, it fits like it was designed for the PPS.

I have been VERY pleased with the new Silent Thunder from Tucker gun leather. Its Kydex with a leather lining. Best of both worlds to me. The other all leather holster I had from Tucker was fine, but here in the swamp I sweat through it and its soaked for a day or more.
This one keeps the gun dry. The lining keeps it from looking old before its time, and it is Silent on the draw. The molding is very tight to the shape, its as small as it can be .
costs $85 and worth every cent. No knock on the Comptac, I use for my Defender. I just dont care for bare Kydex on anything but a stainless gun. Plus its kinda large for a small piece like the PPS.

Im gonna have to wait 2 more days before i pick mine up to be able to say just how good it is and if it impresses me like it does you guys. But going on looks i think its the most unique and dare i say pretty gun ive seen in a long time.
Many say they are ugly like Glocks,i dont really find those ugly either.I just dont find them pretty, and really we arent buying for looks anyhow.A pretty gun that jams and falls apart is an ugly gun.Same as with people, its whats under the skin that counts!

Just got mine in .40 - out of the box I was able to keep it in the black easily. I *do* find that the trigger isn't the most comfortable, but then, this is a concealed carry gun - how my finger feels is 'way down on the priority list when it comes to having to use it. How conceal-able and how accurate and easy to shoot are far more important - and it passes on those counts with flying colors.
