All you guys with your fancy knives and mad skills have me all lathered up to produce something of my own. I already work with wood and natural materials, so all the talk of making cedar scales last week got me thinking about a piece of Eastern Cedar I have laying around doing nothing.
I also have a knife blade a guy gave me some years ago that I never assembled.

I'm interested in making some scales and assembling this little fixed blade drop point knife, so where is a good place to start?

So far, I have the link to Jantz, but where's a good place to find decent instruction without a lot of noise?

TIA.

Not sure where your from but go to some of the gun and knife shows in your area and talk to some of the custom knifemakers. You may be surprised how much information they'll share. At a show just this weekend I had three different people (two guys and a lady learning to make knives) ask me for help or how to do something. We shared ideas and one of them is coming out to my shop. Some may hold back but most knifemakers I know are very generous. I had help when I started so why not pass it on.
