I'm guessing it was because of the tag on it, and it looks like the foam that comes in their shipping boxes. Plus, he talked about not getting the DBU email.

The turnaround time was pretty short if so, maybe they're cathing up! Just over a month...

Man, lets hope so.

I received mine yesterday (Dec 16th), a Springfield Armory Service Grade in very nice condition. I mailed the completed forms and check to CMP on Nov 17th, so that was much quicker service than I expected. Merry Christmas(!) plus an unexpected bonus... the serial number indicates that it was made the year I was born (1955).

I got mine the Monday of Veteran's Day. Mine was ordered @ August 20. Serial was 5.8 Mil Springfield, making it early 1958.

Enjoy. This is one fine piece of history & hardware. Good news: CMP is supposed to get some more ammo in the spring. Keep an eye out!
