Who got a gun for Christmas?

My immediate family and I don't talk, no S/O, so Christmas was another pretty normal day for me: woke up, took care of the dog (black German Shepherd), and cooked myself a nice meal. No new toys, but my fund for parts/accessories/ammunition is growing nicely.

I got this old Browning humpback shotgun from my dad. He has had it for at least 50 years. The old girl is still in pretty good shape.

I got my Christmas present a month early, the scope & rings yesterday, and I'm getting another riser for the scope tomorrow...

It sounds like a lot of guys had a good Christmas. It was my best one in a long time. Hoping to go and try it out this weekend.

I got a Beretta 92 frame to finish up my OD M9 build. Im told its in the mail just waiting. Instead my wife wrapped up a 9mm fmj for me to unwrap, at least she gets it.

Got the cash to buy a S&W sigma 40 cal from a family friend. Brand new, never fired. About a hundred rounds through it so far and I really like it.

Family also gave me some cleaning supplies, a new range bag, and a box of earplugs which I go through quickly when I take other folks to the range. Much appreciated, all of it.

Wife got me!

My wife completely surprised me. She gave me an empty Remington box from a new 1100 Sporting Clays in 28 ga. I was a bit perplex, then she went down the to safe and took out a sweet auto 28 and gave it to me. It was in there for a week and I didn't notice it when I was in safe the other day. Very nice wood for non-custom. Really nice feel and point. If I wasn't controlling the trigger, I am sure it would grind 'em.

She said no gifts this year, but she has completely taken over my Ruger Red Label 28ga for skeet. I guess she figured she owed me a 28ga. I will probably end up shootin the Ruger again the way this 1100 points.

Merry Christmas all!

I got a Sig Sauer Mosquito 22 for target practice....and lots of ammo; also got a Veridian Green laser, some extra batteries for it. In turn, I also gave some ammo and gun accessories and a Beretta to our son, also an NRA Basic Pistol and CCW courses to go with it.

This is the first year in many that someone in my house did not open a gun. That being said I did put the money up for my first NFA gun on the 14th of this month, so I won't complain about not getting anything else

My father surprised me by passing down his Ruger M77 tang safety .243 that he never used.

My wife surprised me with a Ruger GP-100, 6" barrel and stainless.

Is that legal? My wife was going to buy me a .22 pistol a couple of years ago, but the guy at the store said she couldn't. So she put three one hundred dollar bills in box and put that under the tree.:) That was cool, too.

Legal?

Is that legal?

Yes.

It's called a gift.

If the buyer can legally make the purchase, and the person receiving the gift may legally own it, then it's all good.

If the person receiving it is a "prohibited" person, then it's no longer seen as a gift, but rather a straw purchase.

(Some people who work gun counters seem to have trouble with the concept, and take the stance that unless the guy who will wind up with it is the same as the guy doing the buying then it's a "straw purchase.")

Provided the person receiving it meets the legal requirements, gifting a gun is entirely okay.

(Specific requirements for some jurisdictions may entail additional paperwork.)

No, but I did get an e-mail saying that the M1 Garand I bought off gunbroker is in the mail.

Kind of

I got a like new Duo-tone Taurus PT1911 about two weeks ago. I haven't got to shoot it yet. I ordered and received 3 sets of grips from Raasco Grips. I love em". I ordered a Holster from Eric at HBE for Kimber and I think he is starting it this week. I also am bidding on a Milt Sparks for my 5" 1911's. While I was Christmas shopping for others at Wally world the other day I was able to buy 200 rounds of 45 and miracle of miracles 200 rounds of 380.:D

Yep, an Armalite M15A4, plus a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4X scope and five magazines. Also, a CZ 550 Varminter in .22-250, which I bought for myself due to its incredibly low price at Scheels in Reno. Lots of loading projects ahead!

Here are some pics

of my new pistol and other with my new grips.:D

No, but I did give my Grandson his first, a Red Rider, and my son a pellet gun so they can shoot together

My very lucky husband got a Chinese SKS Paratrooper for Christmas. (He basically told me what he wanted and didn't give me an alternative, lol.)

For Christmas he got me some Crimson Trace for my P32 (which was his anniversary gift to me ).
