"tactical" light forend

Why not just put that one on your shotgun? As long as a rail forend is made for your gun, you'd be able to clamp it on just like with an AR-15.

It would take a large investment to manufacture multiple models which replaced an entire pump shotgun forend, "fitting" to an 870, 500/590, 1300, etc. Production would also cost more with multiple models.

Also, everybody here would hate it because it's vertical. :)

I'd advise being a little leery about rail mounted vertical foregrips on a shotgun.

I've had a few break off under recoil. Most were designed for 5.56 recoil, not 12 gauge!

Make sure you find one that is machined from aluminum if you have a shotgun in mind!

I didn't say anything about a rail mounted vertical grip on the shotgun.

I want a dedicated (normal) shotgun forend, with a similar light attachment method. Meaning the switch is integrated into the body of the forend. I have done the vertical fore-gripped shotgun before, and it's not really for me anyway.

If I had the capacity, I would be making them already.

I was just replying to Kind of Blued's suggestion that you just clamp it to a rail.

Making them as a dedicated forend would be a good idea.

not looking for a rail. I am looking for an integrated forend light, without the cost of the surefire.

Thank you though

ETA: I had a surefire forend on a 500 in Iraq. It worked well there. I don't think that it would be any better than what I have described above on a weapon that will probably never leave my closet.

"I am looking for an integrated forend light"
Yup nothing better for a dedicated CQB weapon, but one has to pay the piper. Try E bay.

To answer your original "why" question, I think Kind of Blue nailed it with:

It would take a large investment to manufacture multiple models which replaced an entire pump shotgun forend, "fitting" to an 870, 500/590, 1300, etc. Production would also cost more with multiple models.

The item you link to only has to fit an in spec rail, which are the same for all types of guns. The fore ends on different model shotguns are different.

The only one I know of is surefire. Without paying the price for a surefire, I think your options will be typical solutions like tape switches or just bumping the switch with your thumb.

Sorry I misunderstood what you wanted. Good luck with it, as far as I know SureFire (or the older name, Laser Products IIRC) is all that's available of that type.

back to the original question that started this whole thread. The escort shotgun I own has so far proven itself to be a top notch firearm. I have not put it to the extreme tests that some have talked about but any time i ask it delivers, no question. I always clean and maintain my guns and as you all should know, that makes a huge difference in how they perform. I will be checking on the HK parts to see if they will in fact fit the gun. I will get back to you all rikki tik.

i cant recall price but doesnt surefire make forend lights for mossberg and remington?

im sure they are pricier than 80 but you already said you would get a surefire light to put in the "holder" so the price for an integrated light forend probably will balance out
