What do you pay for FFL transfer fee?

I found a local guy who charges $10 for receiving or for shipping. Makes it much easier to let an FFL do it than dealing with UPS for selling handguns but most FFLs won't ship for you.

What do you pay for a FFL transfer??

Do a search (using the above question) and you'll find tons of info on this subject. It has been done several times each year.

Tha average price seems to be $20-$25 but I get my transfers for $10 and always have. Some live in areas where there seems to be only 1 or 2 FFL holders and they charge an exorbadant fee of about $50 and sometimes even more.

Whatever you or future posters do, don't go to Ace's - they once tried to charge me some ridiculous percentage for the FFL, instead of a flat fee. The rifle was $5K, and those @#$%'s were trying to charge me $250. That was the first of two rip-off's I experienced with them before deciding never to go back (and to warn other potential customers...lol). Guntech in Fort Lauderdale - nice folks and $25.

I pay $5.00.
Used to be free, but the ATF insisted my gun guy had to show a profit at the end of the year to keep his FFL.

$5 sometimes free for inbound or outbound

My FFL dealer usually makes a little on the shipping estimate and I always try to buy something while I'm in there

Don't forget pawn shops fellas! Those guys are much more amiable to making a free lunch to sign a form and make a phone call than many racketeering-gun shops. A good pawnbroker will be happy to make a free $10 any way he can.

In my area (Parkersburg WV) it ranges from $15 - $35 and the dealer I use would like to do them all day long for $20 each. The dealers charging $50 are mad at you for not buying what they have to sell and using the internet to get what you want at the best price. While they MIGHT be losing some sales to internet purchases more often than not they don't have what a person buying from a remote seller is buying. Many dealers don't realize they have the ability to INCREASE their profits by selling on line or are too lazy to learn how. Like it or not technology brings change to us all and those who will not adapt will lose. I feel sad for those who suffer because they don't have the ability to adapt.

rcmodel I pay $5.00.

Your FFL is pulling your leg.
There is no requirement to "show a profit".

And the only way that ATF will ever know how much $$$$ I make off of firearm transfers or sales is by subpoening my financial records. An ATF compliance inspection can only involve inspecting my A&D records (bound book) and comparing it to completed 4473's, multiple sale records, and firearm inventory.

Lets see. One 3 miles away charges $45. One ten miles away charges $50. One sixteen miles away charges $50. One seventeen miles away wants $100!

Guy 8 MINUTES away wants $20. Guess where I go?
Be glad you don't live in DC. The ONLY FFL there, that EVERYONE must go to (as they are not now, nor will there ever been any gun stores in DC) charges $125.

In central KY, most charge $25.

Those who charge less are usually in remote locations, so it ends up costing near 25 anywhere.

$25 local. There's a guy who will do it for $15 local, but he never answers his e-mail or phone. The LGS has great service, and has faxed an FFL for me as soon as 20 minutes after I e-mail them with the request.
