As I reported in a thread yesterday I had several FTF while shooting during lunch yesterday. I only had FTF issues when I used the original Sig mag, no problems with a Colt Mustang mag. So I took it to the shop yesterday and left if for the gunsmith to look into.

I got a call from the shop today and they fired 20 rounds through it without a single FTF with the Sig mag. All he could say is try some different ammo. Ok, so I guess I will try something else (was using Blazer Brass when I had all the FTF issues). They were using Federal. I have some Winchester white box I will try too. Or....I may just sell the darn thing, I hate finicky eaters.

I think I will try calling Sig tomorrow but that is probably a complete waste of time since they don't seem to ever actually answer their customer service phone. I hope they will send me a new mag to try, there is no reason the OEM mag shouldn't work when the Mustang mags.do!

call SIG I thought they had some mag problems early on I have a mustang and irsfeeds every brand I have tried fine . I would expect the SIG to do the same

Read the latest issue of American Rifleman. 8 of 9 .380s had reliability issues. These compact .380s seem like pretty poor performers at least until well broken in. And even then...........

I've read all the magazines and have looked at plenty of forums. I bought this long after all the initial reports of FTF and expected that the problems had been worked out. Why would it feed fine with Colt Mustang mags but not a Sig mag? If the gunsmith was right about trying a different ammo then that would be another Sig that only likes certain ammo. It's bad enough that these P238's aren't fond of hollow points but this was just normal FMJ's that wouldn't feed. Not sure I want to deal with it in the long run, as soon as I get it worked out I may just sell it. I don't want to dump my problems on somebody else.

Hmm, only thing I can think of is maybe the Sig mag follower doesn't hold the nose of the round up as well as the Colt mag.

I would try a different kind of ammo, my experience is blaser is not the best with the aluminum casings. Try the white box before you entirely blame it on the mags and the gun. Some guns just don't like certain ammo, and is it blaser brass or aluminum case blaser?

My S&W 5906 HATES Winchester white box but has shot literally everything else imaginable flawlessly. My Browning BLR shoots Remington Coreloks perfectly and gets 1 inch groups. When i load anything hornady in it I get about 2 foot groups. I don't know the science behind it but some guns just don't like certain ammo. If you know what kind of ammo it doesn't like why get rid of it?

bb21 I was shooting brass Blazer Brass. I will try the white box and see how it does. I really like the gun and even bought some aftermarket rosewood grips the dress it up nicely. I am still going to call Sig today and talk with them.

smartshooter.45 I appreciate your offer to rid me of this trash, especially for the generous offer of $300. I think I will keep shooting it for now and maybe rid myself later for a little more. These little rascals are still fetching good money. My new grips will wow somebody into paying me a really nice price.

How about buying another sig mag for your gun and seeing if there is a difference in feeding. It's a cheap test compared to the cost of a gun smith and you end up with an extra mag no matter what happens. Always good to have an extra mag.
