Is it lame to ask for advice on the price of a gun here?

If not, I found a Browning Hi Power 9mm for $600 new from a dealer. Wondered if this is a good deal or not? It's the satin finish frame.

Hi Powers come highly recommended to me by people I know so I thought I might get it.

I would think so, yes.

Uh, . . .the price for the gun. . . . .not necessarily "someone asking if a price IS good".

Confused. Are you affirming it's lame to ask or affirming that it's a good deal? :)

Disregard my above.... Bulldog posted before I could.

Well in that case, if you feel it's THAT good then now I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with it. :D

Oh and if I don't go for it.... Then I'll let anyone that's interested know where they can find it.

I'd jump all over it if it's in good condition. Get it now.

Yes, the BHP is a true classic sidearm, buy this one and do your research about them later.

And don't let the CZ guys come in here and talk you out of it. :D

Hah hah buy it now research later. :)

That is one of the main reasons I was holding off on getting it. I don't know too much about them.

Think I might take everyone's advice and go for it. I will come back later with the news as to whether I did go for it or not.

do they just have one, or is that their regular price? are you sure it's new? honestly, it's just a lot better than i ever see one priced.

I can't believe how much hi powers are going for now.
Several years ago I bought a new .40 S&W SFS, FN marked, Belgium made and assembled high power for $400. I love it. It's not a Browning, but FN makes all of the hi powers for Browning.

That's a great price on an awesome pistol! Go for it! (I have four of them)

600 ?

In my opinion the Browning Hi Power is the best 9mm on the market. If you can buy a new one for $600 that would be a steal. do not hesitate BUY IT !:fire:

If you're reading this post, it means you haven't bought it yet. At $600, I bet it's gone. I bought one new for a lot more 5 months ago and it is my favorite gun, period (I own more than 40). It is such a pure pleasure to not only shoot, but look at as well (say that about the plastic wonders).

Okay I said I'd report back in.

I went for it.

But, turns out that dealer acquired the Hi Power in question not through his wholesaler but in a deal with someone he knows. The FFL told me the individual he got the gun from stated that it was new/unused. The FFL trusts this person.

So, of course, that means he could not say for certain that it was in new condition. And that's the reason it was priced at what it was. But he did not include that info in his description of the gun. So that's why I was under the impression he got it new straight from a wholesaler.

Anyway if anyone's curious no, there was the only one... And upon inspecting it, the condition of the gun was immaculate. I looked it over and it appeared to show no signs of wear. Felt tight, etc. Oh yeah and it was Belgium manufacture.

Maybe I'll put up a picture of it? Let you see what you guys think? But only if anyone is curious to see it?

I'm in California though so I have to wait 10 days before I have it. :D

Oh and the truly surprising thing is that he has been advertising this thing since the beginning of this month. But I guess the living costs here in CA might explain why it stuck around so long?

BHP is by far my favorite handgun. I picked up a Belgian captains model last year for $550 in Like New condition....love it. Put some nice spegal grips on them and they are a work of art.

Get is already or tell me where to call so I can guy it and have it transfered to my FFL.
