It's not! My thinking is that the fast burning powder is what I would want in a 22WMR pistol.

Powder speed is mostly not a pistol vs rifle issue (assuming the same cartridge is used in both a pistol and rifle such as .22 WMR or 9mm). It is a chamber pressure vs bullet mass issue.

If you take a cartridge such as 22 WMR, the powder speed would be based on the bullet used, not the barrel length (unless the barrel is super short, like two inches).

Whatever powder ended up giving the most speed in a 4.25 inch barrel would also tend to give the most speed in a longer barrel.

So there is little concept of fast vs slow powder based on barrel length (except for extreme examples).

With faster burning powder more of the powder will have burned before the bullet leaves the barrel, therefore reaching a higher velocity in the shorter pistol barrel.

A little bit, but you cannot just change to faster powder without using less of it because you will go higher pressure (and presumably the 'slower' powder load would have already been designed to come close to SAAMI pressure).

Max chamber pressure is reached before the bullet even moves two inches - so when people talk about 'slower' powder peaking later, they might mean 1.5 inches rather than 1.2 inches of bullet travel. In either case, it is less than a pistol length barrel so the powder to select for a 4 inch barrel is probably the same as you would want for a 16 inch barrel.

Lots of Questions Oleg.......

......can you answer some or are you just going to post pics to keep the thread going? Enquiring minds want to know.

well, I put a deposit down on one today. We'll see what goes on from here, I was told late march/early may.

Will certainly let you guys know what I find.

One reason why I hope an American company does us right in these bad times. Every dollar counts lately.

That's a thought. This ammo should be cheap and plentiful. But so is 9mm. While a 30 round mag has a lot to like, and the accuracy and ergonomics are pleasing here, for SD it's hard to justify going below 9mm. You can get 9mm autos that are slim and easy for CCW. I'm feeling this gun as a trainer/plinker, but not a survival tool. YMMV.

Ok I will take one, also, but what the heck I will do with it I have no idea. Maybe put a suppressor on it. Unless you have some private property, to shoot varmints. Fl doesn't have too many places that let you shoot outdoors other than the couple of ranges that are no fun to shoot at. Anyone know a place where you can shoot outdoors without getting arrested. Between Vero and an hour either way. That new range in Indian River is supposed to be beautiful, but too many rules. I just want to shoot some jugs, cans, and the like. You could have a lot of fun with a 30 rounder. John Wayne could have used one of these. All those indians, and 5 or 6 rounds, very troubling, must be fairly accurate being a long barrel and a 22 magnum. And cheap to shoot.Cheaper I should say.
