My XD45 grip modifications

Good and grippy now, the grip contour still fits my hand fine. I filed the front checkers off with a wood rasp, then made the template for the skateboard tape, and stuck it on. I like it, it's ugly and works.

Why? Because I'm a broke college student who likes to tinker, and I've thought about it since I bought the gun. I don't plan on selling this gun, I love it. There's something reassuring about the recoil of a long slide .45, and now that it doesn't slip in my hand it's a blast to shoot.

Would it be less of a shock if the tape was black?

Wow, that thread made me laugh. For a little money I could always have mine fixed. That kimber is beyond repair.
