Terrible - Rossi. I bought an R462 (357 6 round snubbie). The "bolt", a small piece inside the gun, broke after less than 100 rounds. It went back to the factory on my dime. Got the gun back 6 weeks later.
This time the gun lasted about 500 rounds when the same part broke less than a year later. Again back to Rossi and again on my dime. Another 6-7 weeks to repair it.
I thought I learned my lesson and was going to sell it asap. My dad wanted a revolver so I loaned it to him. The same frickin' part broke after 6 rounds. So the gun went back to Rossi a 3rd time, again at my expense.
6 weeks later when it came back, I took it straight to a local gun store do not pass Go and sold it. It lasted the 6 rounds the gun store test-fired it for. The $135 I got for it almost paid for the shipping costs I incurred sending it to Rossi THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME BROKEN PART.
I haven't forgotten that the box said "Taurus-Rossi" on it, never again. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Henry is oustanding in customer service. The owner of the company emailed me personally to make sure I received my needed part. When I asked if they carried baseball caps, he sent me a free one!

Missouri Bullet is another outstanding company. Fast service, great product and prices.

Taurus is pretty hit or miss, depends on the service center's workload apparently. They usually get it right the first time around though, in my experience.

I have read all the blogs and only saw one comment about Dillon Precision. I basicly agree with all the posts with thecompanies I have dealt with, but the Number One Company in customer service has to be Dillon. Never have to wait to get through, every person you speak with is friendly and knowledgable and their lifetime no BS warranty is the best in our industry. There are several reloading manufacturers that could take a page from Dillon's customer service book. :)

Great: S&W. Had a part break on a 22A that I purchased used (required a full rail replacement). Called S&W, the rep said, "Well, we can sell you the part for $50, or you can just ship it to us on our dime and we'll replace it for free..." Guess which option I took? :D

Good: Kimber. My Raptor II had a FTF problem out of the box with all ammo and a rear sight that would not tighten down. Sent it back (they paid both ways), had it back in about 2.5 weeks with a new rear sight and it's been 100% reliable ever since (polished ramp, reamed chamber...).

Bad: Taurus. Sent my .44 Special back due to cylinder slippage (I had to pay shipping), they sent it back with ZERO work done. Girl on phone barely spoke English, much less understood my issue.

Ruger: Great. replaced broken bolt in Mark II with no questions, and shipping paid. Years after warranty expired. Won my loyalty.

Kel-Tec: Replaced part with no questions. Great job.

Truglo: Original 2X scope had a loose lens. They replaced it with a new and better version. I sent a $12 check for shipping free replacement, but they returned the check based on my request. Good job!

I have had good luck with all gun companies.

They rock compared to most consumer-product companies.

Check out Classic Arms. They've been a pleasure to deal with every time. At least in my experience, that is.

Midway was good until something went wrong. They got my father's and my addresses mixed up and put the blame on us. They said that we, not them, made the mistake, like I'd confuse my address with my parents, 1030 miles away.

The great quote: "I don't know what you two did but we'll try to straighten you out."

Great- Ruger. I've had nothing but good experiences with this company.
Same with me. Last thing I sent them was a Single-six that I've had many years, and has had lots of ammo put through it. It finally wore to where the cylinder would lock up. It sent it to them, and they rebuilt it to where it works like it did when it was new. All it cost was me shipping it to them.

The Best- Glock.
I have never had any trouble, out of any of their pistols. My Glocks have always ran 100%. I give them an A+, for being polite and extremely helpful with technical questions. Also for being able to stop by the plant, and have pistols detailed cleaned, and the parts gone over. Very nice people to deal with.

HK-- I had issues with a USP .40c. This was just a few months ago. The finish on the slide, was coming off simply by rubbing. Contact HK and sent pistol in. The people were polite and courteous. Turnaround was quick. Very happy with HK.

The Bad--

Browning. A Citori Lightning was miss firing, and hinge pin cracked. After two trips to Browning, and dealing with rude CS people, I sent it to a gunsmith and had it fixed on my own dime. It is a great duck.goose shotgun now. However, I will not buy from Browning again.

Smith & Wesson has always been effective at resolving the issue at hand, but their phone tree is awful (certain options just don't exist, so you have to pick the wrong option and ask to be sent elsewhere). Also, everyone I've talked to there is very abrupt and usually sounds bored or irritated.

Maybe it's a Yankee thing :D

Taurus / Rossi...absolutely without a doubt the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Two reps in particular (Melody and Derrick) are blatant liars. To save yourself some headaches, avoid Taurus completely.

Springfield Armory! I had to have my less than 6 month old 1911 GI sent back to them due to the plunger tube falling out of the frame. When the local gun shops gunsmith tried to fix it he destroyed the original plunger tube and scratched the frame pretty bad. When I called Springfield armory, the woman in the repair department was very understanding of what happened, asked me to sent her an email describing what happened to my gun. They replaced the damaged plunger tube and re-parkerized the whole gun AT NO CHARGE! Springfield has the best customer service representatives that I have ever dealt with. They were understanding of my situation and actually seemed like they cared about me, the customer. They also had a very fast turn around, just a little over one week.

Good

Midway USA is great. I ordered pachmayr American legend grips for my 1911, and I received the Signiture grips instead. I called Midway and they said keep the Signiture grips and we will send you the American legend grips today. The correct grips arrived in three days and I got a free pair of grips out of it.

Bad

EAA is horrible, I had a witness that the frame split and I sent it to them. They accussed me of using overly hot reloads. I have never used reloads. I was using Magtech FMJ for practice and Speer Gold dot for SD.

It took me 5 months to get my weapon back from them with a new frame (that they finally paid for).

I will never buy another EAA, which is upsetting because the tanfoglio pistols are very accurate.

Dillon Precision has the best customer service of any company of any type I have every dealt with. All you have to do is tell them what the problem is and new parts will be in the mail with no questions asked. I called them last week to order a new hopper for my 20 year old powder measure. Mine was so dark from leaving it loaded with powder most of the time, I could hardly see thru it.

I started to give my credit card number and they said they didn't need it. A few days later it was at my door with all postage paid. Try that with Lyman. You might get it in a month if you're lucky. Certainly you'll pay top price and postage also. kyfarmer

Well, its good that this post is at the bottom of the page. That is where rossi belongs. The worst most unprofessional employees on the phone, techs that cannot repair their products correctly and timely, repeditive use of inferior parts, need i say more.

Remember the life time warranty is over if it dosn"t work and your dead !

I hesitated to put this up as it happened a long time ago (1995), but I would give Taurus an F for Failing to repair a faulty PT945, sending it back twice with the exact same problems I sent it in for.

Need to ask forgivess of Henry, they must have been covered up because, I was recently contacted and they are going to pay for shipping my gun and getting it fixed. My deepest opology for "jumping the gun".

Good - Midway USA - I called just to ask about the benefits of opening a dealer account with them. I mailed them a copy of my C&R the very next day. The $30 fee for the FFL license has almost payed for itself, I diddnt know shooters with a C&R license qualified for discounts, the gentelman I spoke with explained the merits very well.

Good - Keltec - I called with some general questions about the p9 and p11 pistols. The man I spoke with seemed genuinely helpfull and did not try to rush me off the phone.

Dillion precision is great, truely a no BS warrenty
Midway usa has also been awsome
Currently dealing with FNH... time will tell, they wanted my ffl to sent photos of the gun to try and see what was wrong. My ffl said no and shipped the gun back anyway. The ball is in there court, I haven't heard much about FNH's service so I hope this goes well!

Springfield Armory A+ magazine busted 3 weeks after buying new 1911,sent new back in 10 days

Ruger A+ bought well used Security-Six, repaired and sent back no charge

No comments from LOW TIER AR's Olympic & DPMS?????

I must say that Dillion has the best there is. I bought a 550b 25 years ago. It was used, a part broke and I called them and told the story. They told me that they would send out a part, two days later it came. About five years ago the ball cracked, called dillion, three days later new ball. no cost
Ten years back I bought a carbon barrel for a 10/22 from cabelas. After five years and many rounds threw it. It started to crack, call cabelas. New barrel in the mail shipped to my home at no cost to me.

I've had great customer service from the following, it's repetitive though:

Rainier*
Zero
MidwayUSA*
Penn Bullets*
Missouri bullets
Lee*
Sierra Gunsmiths
Magnum Research*
Smith & Wesson
Lyman
Cabela's*
MidSouth Shooters

Outstanding *

That's about all I can think of now.

SWFA is top-notch. Can't believe they aren't listed here yet.

On top of superior CS, I called to buy one of the scopes off their 'sample list' only to learn it had already been sold that morning. So, they sold me a brand new model for the sample list price. On top of that, I ordered that scope around noonish that day, the transaction hit my account less than 20 mins later and within the hour I had a confirmation email with a tracking notification.

That kinda stuff does not happen everywhere or even very often.
