Okay, this the problem I am having with a CBOB.

"Round chambered, slide out of battery, extractor stopped by the rear of the case rim, usually on the last round:

This one is a magazine problem, pure and simple, and generally shows up when somebody has tuned a magazine by removing that silly little dimple from the follower. An oversprung slide will aggravate the problem. Browning the Great put that dimple there for a very good reason. Best leave it be." Form Tuner's FAQ

Trouble is that it happens both with dimpled magazines and non-dimpled magazines. It's a CBOB and DW suggested that I go to a 22 lb spring, but this suggests I do down to an 18lb.

The extractor also does not seem right?

When slid under the extractor the unfired cartridge does not sit flush with the breech face on the CBOB, like it does on an STI that I also own (The STI has flawless performance). It sits out from the breech face about 1/16-1/8 of an inch. Further, while the round does not come off the extractor on the CBOB, there is a lot more movement when I gently shake the slide compared with the STI. On the CBOB the nose of the cartridge moves up and down about an inch. With the STI, only a hair. Also, there was no side to side movement on the STI, but quite a bit on the CBOB. The extractor would sometimes freeze the round to the side.

Can you post closeups of the extractor and breechface and a closeup of the hook on the extractor?
