I see the rifle only comes with 10 round mags. Will they not take the 30 rounders?

In order to get the rifle inot the country they had to be limited to 10 round mags there are 2 tabs in the mag well that can be removed.

So is it going to be delayed blow back, and will they have fluted chambers like the original?

nothing new we have sold about 85 of the ATI imported MKE pistols and no problems , we have had several custoemrs buy a second one they liked them so much.

I bought mine from elsewhere and like it alot. They are every bit as nice as genuine HKs.

I picked up my AT-94P about a month ago and have converted it into a carbine.

For anyone interested.....
The AT-94P has 11 foreign made parts on it and no US made parts. Anyone thinking of converting a 94P into a carbine must replace one foreign part and add five US parts to make it 922r compliant. Because the barrel length is a little over 16in you can convert into a carbine legally but once you do so it must remain a carbine and you can not convert it back to a pistol. Once you add a stock and call it a rifle it must stay a rifle, if you remove the stock and put the end cap back on then it becomes an SBR.

I added a US made stock, forearm, pistol grip, trigger, hammer and sear. In all it cost me about $200 in additional parts to legally turn the gun from pistol to rifle. Despite the added cost of adding US parts to make it 922r compliant I still have under $1600 invested in the gun overall. Eventually I want to register it as an SBR and shorten the barrel but that won't be for a while. Currently I have about 400 rounds through it and zero malfunctions of any kind.

Here's how it looked when I got it new. It came with a nice plastic case, sling, cleaning kit, extra push pins, manual and 30 round mag.

Here's how it looks now after converting it into a carbine....

Overall I couldn't be more impressed with this gun. The fit in finish is excellent, it's very accurate and fun to shoot, the welds are not as clean as you'd find on an HK but they are not bad at all. I actually like my AT-94 so much that I went and put the AT-94k that my local shop had on layaway.

I have owned US made HK-94 clones in the past and they turned out to be a complete waste of money and plagued with problems, the AT-94's are head and shoulders above the clones made here in the US. Made under H&K contract by MKE in Turkey they are as close as you can get to owning a genuine German HK-94 without having to spend several thousand of dollars. The AT-94P and 94k are imported as pistols so they are not subject to assault weapons import bans and because of this they ship with all original MKE parts. The AT-94 carbine is subject to import restrictions and can only accept special 10 round mags due to modifications made to the mag well. The carbine version has also had a number of modifications done to it so that they can't be classified as an assault weapon and can be legally imported by ATI into the US. This is the main reason why I decided to convert the AT-94P into a rifle instead of just buying the AT-94 carbine. However I would think the AT-94 carbine would be pretty popular among the residents of States that have assault weapons bans.

nwilliams , thanks for the post info that is a nice looking unit and our feedback from the cusotmers has been the same .

nwilliams, did you have to swap the lower for 922r, or just want to swap that part? Basically how many "parts" are there?

:)

I replaced the grip frame of the lower with a US made version. The main reason was I replaced it was to gain another compliant part. However I like the replacement one a lot more anyway because it feels more comfortable and I think it looks better.

The pistol grip frame itself counts as one part and the trigger pack contains three more (trigger, hammer and sear), so in all the lower contains four 922r compliant parts.

So it wasn't needed, but you liked it better and wanted the piece of mind knowing that you had an additional part for 922r compliance...right? If so that is good to know, because I like the original lower a bit better (without having handled it). Thanks for the info.

:)

I'm interested in getting one. Email sent to you, Atlantic Firearms!

What configuration do I want for the SBR route? Any further reports from owners? Anyone else have pics?
