Does anyone have a CZ 75 Compact D PCR that they carry? I'm thinking of picking one up for a general woods/hiking/everyday gun and I'm wondering how well they ride on the hip.

I've had one since November 2007. It carries and shoots just fine. It is actually slimmer than many guns of similar capacity, and the alloy frame makes it light.

I have been eying a PCR for much the same purposes. You may want to figure in another $90 for slimline aluminum grips. They take the PCR width from 1.4 inches down to 1.13 inches--which is a pretty big difference.

Its grip, especially if you substitute thinner ones for the rubber, is only slightly wider than that of the SIG P225/P6 and otherwise of nearly equal size to that gun (even fitting in many leather holsters made for it), yet it holds six more rounds.

The CZ PCR carrys very well on the hip. I have a blade tech paddle holster for mine. I like it a lot. The trigger might give you a problem. It is "curvy". It tends to dig into the bottom of the trigger finger after a while. It can be changed by CZ for a price.

Great pistol, I like the loaded chamber indicator, Novak style sights, and the factory rubber grips. The PCR fits my hand like a glove, shoots as well as most of my fullsize 9mms and has been completely reliable. I replace my SIG P232 with the CZ 75D, they are similar on size, 7+1 .380 vs 14+1 9mm. The only CZ I own or will ever own, I got the PCR to fit a need, as a carry weapon, it does the job well.

Jed, that's interesting that you replaced your Sig 232 with the CZ, as the Sig 232 was tops on my list to purchase but I found a deal on the CZ that I don't think I can pass up. Looks like I may as well go pick it up.

I also traded my full size 75 B for the Compact. As much as I liked the 75B it was really only good for range or home defense. It was/is one of the most accurate 9's I have owned. The compact I have grown to like even more. Fits my hand, lighter, allot frame has a decocker and is pretty much just as accurate.

Great gun, nothing bad to say about it. The new PO7 Duty is a winner also if you want polymer.

I have both a full size 75D and a compact among other guns. The CZ's are absolutely the best in class IMO, especially at the price. My compact actually is more accurate than the full size, is extremely accurate and actually shoots far better than I can make it. I used a full size CZ75 in the military in Rhodesia, which was my introduction to it.

The PCR is a fantastic all-purpose sidearm - small and fairly light, yet handles like a full sized pistol - it's arguably the perfect all-purpose sidearm.

Rhodesian? I need some of your camo, love that pattern! :)

The PCR is a great sidearm, especially when coupled with a CZ benchmade Resistor.

My PCR rides in a Hazel cross draw rig as a BUG, unorthodox, but effective.

It looks even better with Hakan Pek grips.

...and, for our Rhodesian member, my one and only item of Rhodesian camo, a flap hat, and a PCR I don't have anymore, a pic I did many years ago.

I kept the P232 it is a great .380 but outside 15 yards a center mass hit would be iffy. Now I holster carry a PCR. I own 5 SIGs one and only one CZ, may buy a CZ rifle but this is nearly the perfect pistol for my needs, I'll not likely need another CZ pistol. I carried the SIG P232 for nearly 9 years, but lately I felt under gunned. I sometimes used my .40/.357 P239, but the grip felt too short really good pistol though. I picked up the CZ PCR last Summer and rarely look back. Still wish CZ would make it in a single stack, some things are more important than capacity. I may spring for another CZ pistol if they ever do. But I probably will scarf up a nitron finish with night sights SIG P238...

I do not have the PCR, but I do have a pair of 75 Compacts. They are great pistols.

Just got one. great piece
fits very well. Replaced the HK compact and no regrets what so ever !!!!!

What is that lever behind the slide stop lever ? Is it a decocker or what ? I have a 75B and mine is the safety only lever .

Yes, it's a decocker. CZ should offer the P01 and PCR with a manual safety. I'd get two.

Then you will like the P02. Yes, there IS such an animal, not in the States yet, P01 with Omega trigger and P07 decocker/safety setup, switchable by user.

Rhodesian Camo

Hey Armoredman,
I have a trunk full, brought my kit with me. My son was using one of my combat jackets and left it in his car while at a gas station, in the few minutes he was inside paying, it was stolen. He has staked a claim to what I have so I can't part with it. Then again!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my PCR. It is my favorite CZ pistol and I have a lot of CZs.

Best regards.

Aww, man - I just returned from going to pick up what I thought was a PCR, but it didn't have the de-cocker and was just a standard 75B Compact. Bummer!
It really did feel good, though.
