Am i the only person who has ever picked up a Sig Mosquito and thought to themselves how great it would be if Sig made a single stack 9 or 40 in the same size? I love Sigs but think that they could make a better gun to market as a ccw gun.

I was thinking something along the same lines-Not necessarily a single stack because I think that's a bit primitive, but a subcompact line of firearms with full size service calibers. They have the P238 but that's in .380 and I don't like the concept of a mini 1911.

They DO have the subcompact P250... but come on. That gun is an embarassment to the P-series.

I love my P229 in .40 and will never get rid of it. But I think I'm going to cross over to the Glock 26 for a subcompact. They've been in the subcompact game a lot longer and for a subcompact I don't want a decocker, a hammer, or anything that sticks out from the frame too much. The P250 has that ridiculous pseudo-hammer thing on a DAO gun. They had the idea of double-strike ability for the P250, but why have that retarded little tin-can popsicle stick of a hammer flip back every time? They could've gone for a striker setup like the Walther P99. I also couldn't give a damn about modularity, personally. Too many pieces to keep up with.

As far as SIG pistols are concerned, I won't ever deviate from their classics unless they come up with something so brilliant in my eyes that justifies branching out.

Right... But the P99 with the AS setup has a Double action pull and single action pull with a striker. It's got double strike capability with no hammer.

SIG-Sauer P239. 9mm. 8rd + 1 in the chamber. DA/SA. Decocker. Looks like a P229 on a diet.

Is 9mm not full sized enough?

Actually I would like to have a PS2022 sig clone the size of a glock 26. I'd also like it priced like a glock 26 but you can't have everything.

They did! It was called the 225.

Length:
225-7.1"
Mos-7.2"

Height:
225-6.3"
Mos-5.3"

Width:
225-1.22"
Mos-1.5"

Weight:
225-28.8 oz
Mos-24.6 oz

I really wish Sig would start to make their guns in Germany again, or at least offer that option. I'd pay more for a German made Sig than an American one.

the trigger on the P250 is quite nice, the reset is full length as it is a true DAO hammer fired pistol, but the pull is very reasonable and smooooooth.

the hammer doesn't protrude at all, it's not "sticking out" unless the trigger is being pulled, and some people (like me) enjoy having a hammer present to aid in safe holstering.

as to the OP's query: the sig P239 is a single stack 9mm/40/357 pistol and the P250 is narrower than the mosquito
Mosquito Width : 1.5"
P250c Width : 1.3" w/ 15rds 9mm
P239 Width : 1.2" w/ 8rds 9mm
P250sc Width: 1.1" 1/ 12rds 9mm

I would love for Sig to bring back the 210 as well, but with a decent price.

I would also like to see the German made stamped slides again.

SAO option on the P226 and P229 models would be nice.

Easier access to the SRT trigger kits would be great. My West German P226 would love to have one.

The problem with the P210, is that to get one thats up to P210 quality standards your going to have to pay.

Prohibited by Law

The reason sub-compact imported guns (glock, etc) have "thumb rests", "target triggers", minimum round count, etc. is to qualify to be imported.

That's why Kahrs are U.S. made as that design cannot be imported because of laws and standards to limit "cheap Saturday Night Specials".

This "feel good", "common sense" law passed many years ago without the details being known by the populist and only opposed by us "gun nuts"...kind of like healthcare.

Just sayin'

I wish Sig would put a backstrap safety on the 238. I might think about putting it in my pocket then.

Is 9mm not full sized enough?"

Or 40 S&W...or 357Sig :). Nice and compact, easy to conceal.

FMJ:"there's no market for an high end, expensive, low capacity 9mm."

Is that why Kahr 9mm are hard to find and they can sell everything they make?
That sig 210 does not meet the standards for import and that's the real reason it's not sold here...not because no one wants it.
