Love those glasses! Now make those with polycarbonate as the glass, and you have a steampunk range winner!

BTW, two movies that have that theme are Wild Wild West and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I still think a Webley 455 (converted to .45acp and cut down to snub nose length) is the ideal "Steampunk" CCW piece. Just make sure you load it with low pressure loads.

Or if you're going to "roll your own" see if you can't find a Webley in .577

Can you convert a Webley #2 Bulldog to .45acp?

I like the cut of your gibberish. A Webley snubbie converted to .45 ACP and a bunch of bronze parts would just be very cool, steampunk or not.

Steampunk would demand clear lexan grips inlaid with watch gears and such, preferably in an intricate pattern that would seem functional.

Interesting stuff, this steampunk world. I never heard of it until today. Old and out of touch I guess. Some of the work out there are truly pieces of art.

That steam gauge ammo counter made me think of a PCP airgun, though.

Regarding CobyClark's lower pic..I like the 90-degree phono plug jack screwed to the side of the pistol. I wonder what it sounds like through a Marshall stack.
Ah, that's what that is! I knew I'd seen them before, but I couldn't recall what it was, just knew it was something electronic. Thanks, good eye!

Some of the best, I think, was the Nautilus, from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Riveted black iron and polished brass, with beautiful curves on everything, whether they needed them or not. More recently, the movie "Steam Boy" was absolutely stunning.

A modern SW Volcanic would be a great steampunk gun. (Self contained rounds!)

Someone with a CNC machine and a lot of extra cash make one just to satisfy the needs of this post please.
It's been done, on a gunsmithing forum. :)

He made a .40 caliber short round, lead, hollow base with powder, mild steel rim with primer. All that was left in the barrel was a flattened primer and anvil, the rest left the muzzle.

I had an idea for a pair of steam punk style sunglasses. There would be 2 sets of lenses. The fixed lenses attached to the frames would be polarized. Then a second set of revolving polarized lenses (geared together) can be rotated to darken the field of view. Cool cause they would be functional and have lots of cool moving parts.

Id give my left testicle for a modern Volcanic pistol. Making it in 22LR or perhaps a rimed/semi-rimed center fire like the 32 auto would probably require very little adaptation.

i really like the steampunk computer mods, where the cases are replaced with polished brass...very cool.

If you really want to get steampunk, rig glasses like that with a built-in aperture then design a firearm stock with a cradle to put your head, so you become the rear sight. Something light recoiling of course, so you don't hurt your neck.

Some of the strangest looking firearms I've seen came from the 1840's through the Civil War. There were all kinds of bizarre experimental weapons.

The underhammer rifles are inherently steampunk, too.

Ask and ye shall receive (hopefully Nushif has a tissue).

Fix the neck problems with a flexible Scope to mount from your steampunk goggles to the rifle sight?

Old + new = Exactly in the spirit of the beast.
