Hi Ben86,

Surprisingly most are very well educated. I supposed their problem is that they are either blinded by ideology or simply want social control, even at the cost of innocent life.

Education does not equal wisdom or common sense. Anyone within shouting distance of a college campus knows of someone with several high level degrees that cannot take into account the fact that water flows downhill. There is an old saying that there is a sucker born every minute. These days that should be amended that they (suckers) are produced by liberal arts schools nationwide.

It should be a S&W Model 10 with 250 rounds of .38spl! I mean, these folks have been deprived for so long, they need to work up to a .45! ;)
I was thinking that the NG would have lots of surplus 1911's on hand to give out.... In reality you are right, the people in Chicago would need to start with .22 shorts...

Education and common sense really do seem to be two separate things, perhaps because scholastic subjects are taught and common sense is not. It's funny, the same professors that tout skepticism and getting to the truth of matters are some of the most ideological people I have ever met. Instead of honestly observing the world and coming to a logical understanding they begin with their own assumption and expectations of the world an alter their perception accordingly. Their very perception of reality is skewed by their blind ideology. Perhaps this disorder should be given an official name and included in the DSM-V.

The best cure for violence in Chicago would be to enlist every heavy machine operator in the country and put a line of D6 & D8's starting at I-80 and stopping them at about the Wisconsin line. Once the place is bulldozed flat, let it go back to swamp and open the area for hunting.

Fixed it for you :D

They do not get it.... as mentioned prior... an armed society is a polite society....

We just a had a bruttle attack on two young ladies... two persons attacked them to rob them. They used a baseball bat to frature their skulls.... The young ladies are in the hospital in rough shape. I don't hear Daley shouting for bat control....

I just wonder it these two persons would of attached these two ladies, if they thought they or someone around them was armed...

Sad to say , but if the national guard was brought in... The chrime rate would drop for a time but then start to rise again.... The respect for life is not there in these BG's.

First, let's let the liberal/Democrat =gun control thing die a natural death. There are plenty of conservatives/Republicans for gun control (including Richard Nixon, George Bush, Charlton Heston in the old days, Rudy Giuliani and Ronald Reagan) and there are plenty of liberals/Democrats in favor of RKBA. 65 of them blocked the renewal of the AWB in the current session of Congress. It doesn't matter where our current President is from, the only gun legislation he signed expanded gun rights. (I sometimes believe we think gun control is a bigger issue than Obama does. He took his drubbing in the first days of his administration and let it go). With Democrats in control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives, HR 45, the Blair Holt Bill, HR 2159, which allows the use of the secret anti-terrorist list to deny a firearm sale (this was sponsored by a New York Republican), etc. are all stuck in committee and unlikely to ever even come to a vote before the next session of Congress.

Let's just say "anti-gun" and "pro-gun" as that's the particular issue that concerns us. After all, concerns about other issues are not germane to THR topics.

Illinois politics has been a world unto itself for as long as anyone living can remember. I have long thought Chicago gun control laws were inspired by the same thing as New York's Sullivan Act: a fear on the part of some politicians that their constituents, if allowed to carry arms, would shoot them. IIRC, Chicago not only has one of the highest firearm-related homicide rates in America, it has the highest juvenile shooting rate in the country. Hundreds of Chicago high school kids were gunned down last year. So, since gun control hasn't worked, it's time to call in more guns, this time in the hands of the National Guard. Gee, if more guns are the answer, why not just issue each Chicago cop two guns? Or three? Or maybe they just want more armed people? Instead of the National Guard (Navy SEALs, Delta Force, Mossad), how about... the citizens of the city? Let's have Chicago adopt Vermont's gun laws for a few years; betcha a major bite would get taken outta crime in the Windy City.

See, now, you guys are missing the whole picture.

It isn't Daley's fault that his draconian gun laws aren't working the way he thinks they should be. It's 'cause of the SUBURBS. Since guns can be bought in the suburbs and brought in, it's the REST OF THE STATE'S fault that things are so bad in the city. And because all of the suburban gun owners are irresponsible and let their firearms get stolen that there is a flood of guns in the city. And it's the fault of the gun makers that there is such a flood of guns in the city. Anybody remember the $440 million dollar lawsuit he filed against gun makers? Oh, wait, the Supreme Court tossed it out. And then Daley called the Supreme Court dumb. That pesky Constitution thingy keeps getting in his way.

That's because bats are intended for hitting baseballs, and should not be banned simply because they were misused. On the other hand, guns are intended to maim and kill people , and that means they are evil...EVIL! This is how many people think, seriously, which is why it has been so easy for anti-gunners and the media to stigmatize guns to the point where people stop thinking altogether and simply hate them and want them gone. Our job is to get people to start thinking again, but it's not easy because thinking is too arduous for most.

Chicago politicians do not care about crime or preventing crime, they, like all mobsters, simply want to eliminate any competition to thier control of the city and anything else they can control. An armed, educated and self reliant population would be a direct threat to that control.

Unfortunately, I think so few people have the spirit to be armed, educated and self-reliant anymore. So few people realize what a great source of freedom it is.

It has very little to do with the level of education with our liberal "friends." Most have been brain washed into the liberal mindset.....they live in an ivory tower.

"A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher." Luke 6:40

CCW sounds good to us, but I guarantee the lawmakers think the crime problem comes from guns, not criminals.

It's because they start off with the totally false presupposition that "Men are born naturally good; it is only the world/circumstance that makes them do bad things."

Man, in his natural state, is depraved.

"It isn't that liberals are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so."
- Ronald Reagan

Alright, I've worked Scripture and a quote from Reagan into a thread......I can sleep easy tonight.

Officer’s Wife,

You just gave me a great idea for a bumper sticker, to paraphrase your comment:

There’s a sucker educated every minute.

I believe he is talking about Daleyville south, sometimes called Springfield Illinois.

I was thinking D.C. but couldn't follow the geography.

There’s a sucker educated every minute.

I like that.

My favorite bumper sticker is: "I'm your huckleberry".

I'm continually amazed how classes in 'lib' subjects stress "we are teaching you to think" then continually expect statements to be accepted without thought.

It is a strange paradox, isn't it? Maybe what they mean is for you to accept what they deem true, what serves their ideology, and only be skeptical with more conservative ideals that disagree with their ideology.

More specifically, they're teaching you HOW to think, and sometimes require of you quite a bit of "thinking" in order to rationalize in words the crazy things that many of them believe. And if you stray from the message, then you won't pass, simple as that. :fire:

Let's see, Illinois state show your "Firearms Owners ID Card" is reasonable gun control.
But Arizona state show your citizenship ID is "Schindler's List: the Auschwitz Years."
Sorry I am failing to master the art of double think.

Let me help you out. Reality is what we believe it is, that's the key. See? All better.
