I have been experimenting with different types of holsters that I can use while I am at work. I am a security guard over night and as the weather is beginning to warm up I can't use my Serpa holster covered by a jacket. Lately, I have been using a Galco Tuck N Go IWB to hold my Sig Sauer P250 SC. It really isn't very comfortable and also prints badly. I recieved my new holster to try today. I bought a Pistol Wear Trump Card shoulder holster. I liked the idea of the holster as it can be worn as a shoulder or waist carry and it is sweat proof.

Hear it is with my Sig P250.

This is how close it stays to the body.

And it is totally concealable with my work uniform.

I have been wearing it around the house for the past few hours and it is very comfortable. I also plan on using it during my daily runs. It seems to stay in place. I would definitely recommend this to people who have to wear business clothes. Sits nicely.

I appears quick draw is not one of it's strong points if you do need the gun in a hurry.

Looks like the old Superman "rip all the buttons off your shirt" move is the only way to get too it fast while wearing the uniform shirt.

Yeah, it is a little slower to get to, but until I find something better this will do. I have been practicing draws and it is becoming faster, but yes, I will be forced to damage my pretty shirt and just rip the buttons off.

My only comfort is knowing that if I have to pull out my gun to defend myself, there are a lot of quick places to hide behind giving me enough tim to get it out. I would rather hide and wait for the perfect shot at which to corner a BG to give him the option to drop his weapon and be arrested rather than me having to shoot.

Also, the gun slides into a pouch that holds it in place.

I use a SOB (Small of Back) holster, I carry my J Frame there, or my Glock or Small Kimber 45. Simple and effective is what I look for. A holster to over comes a problem that I don't have is a waste of money, so I try several holsters before buying one.

Something you might consider is sewing in a strip of velcro between the second button from the top and the fifth from the top and then sewing the third and fourth buttons on the outside, thus you can rip into the shirt to get to your gun easily and quickly (but not quietly :p ) while still having a professional looking shirt.

Overall I still contend that a tuckable IWB holster at 3 o'clock would be both more comfortable and easier to get to. If you're worried about the clips or loops showing (and since you work in security with people that might actually notice something like that) there's always the Fist Secret System.

Most tuckable IWB makers offer a velcro-clip setup that attaches to the inside of your gunbelt.

I'm not sure how thin that Sig is, but if an Officer's size 1911 can be hidden in a tuckable IWB, I'd imagine most compact polymer pistols could be as well.

Why would a uniformed security guard carry a handgun concealed?

Best question in the thread.

I have been wearing it around the house for the past few hours and it is very comfortable.

Have you tried running with it on? It seems to me that unless you have a decent size gut it will slip down to your waist. The constriction will be uncomfortable when hot and way too slow to deploy anytime.

Why would a uniformed security guard carry a handgun concealed?

I'm guessing being an UNARMED uniformed security guard means you've got a better than average chance of being put in a position where you'll need a gun.

I imagine if he ever finds that he needs it he'll be looking for work afterward, but at least he'll be alive (or worst case at least go down fighting).

Remember, company policy ain't the law. ;)

Looks like there's a strap that goes over/around the left shoulder to keep it from falling down too easily.

That'll do in a pinch.

I wear a belly band for my Bersa in most social situation that require attire with a tucked shirt but no jacket.

It works pretty well ... not that many people are shaking my hand and patting me around anyhow.
