Get the 550b... It's much more versatile...

+1 to this. The 550b will accept standard dies, and it can be used to reload bottleneck cartridges (rifle).

I considered the Square Deal, when I was only loading .45 ACP. A few years later, I was glad I spent the extra for the 550b.

This is largely subjective (because I never owned a Square Deal), but the design of the 550b said "serious reloader" to me, and the Square Deal said "occasional reloader". I know there are many, many happy Square Deal owners out there and that there is nothing wrong with that press, within its limitations. But that is the impression the two presses gave me.

I ordered one 3 weeks ago. I'm using lyman dies except for the supplied expander/powder die. I didn't get the bullet bin, case bin, or the "strong mount". It meters bullseye and 231 very good. The one thing that can be tedious is setting the bell (was for me anyway). I immediately crushed the primer feed tip. That knurled knob just looks like it is asking to be torqued down - DON'T DO IT. I've loaded about 1000 .45 acp trouble free rounds.
I crushed a few cases after weighing my charges when I neglected to put the locator pin back in the powder station. Thus far the only problems I've had, have been my fault.

This sure beats the crap out of scooping powder and single staging.

So, where's a good place to buy Dillons? I'd like to at least look at some in person if possible. I get good results from my Lee Classic Turret, but I keep thinking "four pulls for one round vs. one round per pull".
