Im looking for am affordable but well made light to mount on my XD. I would like to spend around $100. I want a quick detach. I would also like a laser/light combo but the laser part isnt a must(although i would like to have it:D). Any links and prices would be alot of help.....Thanks.

Take a look at the TLR-3. It is brighter than my TLR-1 and it only runs on one 123A battery. I got mine for around $75-$80 on www.lapolicegear.com.
I also believe that the TLR-3 is just as bright as my Surefire X200, which cost $200.

Actually, you should have several choices of lights for $100 and even some that normally cost more but that you can find on sale.

Something to keep in mind is that some of the newer lights are now only using one CR123 battery instead of two and are getting comparable or longer run times from the bulbs with comparable or greater amounts of light (see example above). New LED lights seem to be more efficient than the older LED lights which were comparable or better than the Xenon lights. So check run times and lumen brightness when comparing models.

I would avoid anything non LED such as xenon. While they last quite a while, xenon bulbs do burn out. LED bulbs will last you 50,000-100,000 hours, or in other words, last longer than the rest of the light will last.

Cool. So the TLR-3 doesn't surpass the TLR-1 everywhere, but it does run longer than the old xenon M3 model (which I have) with a bulb that doesn't super heat with comparable output one half the batteries.

I would think that 90 lumens is more than great for a pistol light. I also use my M3 on my carbine and can light up hogs out to beyond 50 yards just fine which is further than most folks will be using a defensive pistol. Note, I don't there there would be too much wrong with more lumens outside, but you can reach a point inside where you do get too much light reflecting back at you off of walls.

The TLR-1 is a great light but I personally wouldn't call it a "quick detach" light which is one of the requirements the thread starter requested.
I'm not sure about the TLR-3 but it appears to mount the same way as the TLR-1.

Maybe something like this would better suit his needs.
