I got this little baby at Cabela's in Dundee, MI. I was there about a month ago asking about it, and they said they had a couple in other stores on clearance, but sometimes will not transfer guns if there are less than 5 in the store, which is at the store's discretion. I figured I'd never hear from them again, but 3 or 4 weeks later, they called me and said they got one! Nobody could tell me exactly what came with it though. So I made the 90 minute drive south to check it out in person before I plopped down the cash. Now, I've been looking for one of these for 6 months. No one ever had one in stock. I ran across ONE in a pawn shop that was all beat up and had one magazine, and that was while I was on vacation in VA Beach. He wanted over 300 for it I believe. Anyways, I think this one is in pretty good condition, and the price was pretty good too. What do you guys think?

Just a little bit of holster wear near the muzzle. Two magazines and a holster that reads CZ75/85. It doesn't seem to fit properly, and is left handed, so I'll likely never use it. Anyways, its on clearance for 249 for the kit. Thought I'd let you all know where the deals are. :D

Range report when I get some ammo for it. Anyone know where to get it for cheap?

They are great little guns. Fun to shoot, reliable and durable. Several online stores have them for around $200, plus shipping and FFL fees. If you have a c&r, the are eligible for c&r purchase. Enjoy.

Well you can buy them all day long for anywhere from $180-220 on from at least 4 dealers online... Really cheap if you've got a $10 annual C&R license...

That would save you the 3 hour round trip drive to your dealer, and the hours you've spent searching for one...

I realize this, BUT, I don't have a C&R, and they are 220 at J&G Sales with hand select, PLUS shipping (54 dollars to my zip code :what:), PLUS 40-60 dollar FFL fee, and they only come with one magazine. Plus, you've already bought it before you got to look it over first. This way, I got to fondle it before I actually committed to buying it. I bought the gun, two mags, a cleaning tool, and the holster, (and a bag of licorice for the woman) for 268 bucks OTD. That seems to me to come out WAY cheaper than an online sale. Besides, it was just another excuse to go to cabela's... Like we've ever needed one of those, right? :p

CZ82s are cool. If you've wanted one, and found a good one, then you've done good!

A few bucks one way or the other won't make much difference in ten years. The real question is: how much ammo did you get?

:)

NONE yet :(

I was hoping to find it cheaper somewhere other than cabelas. Any suggestions? Any good brands or brands to stay away from?

Get it. I have never heard a of CZ82 purchaser who regretted their purchase. I am still amazed at mine. Although MILSURP, it really redefines what you can expect for a ~$200 pistol. It is pretty much impossible to buy that much happiness in a pistol for anywhere near that price.

The threshold question for this particular deal is whether you can live with a single mag or if you need two. I personally need 2 at minimum for any pistol, yet mine only came with 1. Mags aren't necessarily hard to find, but there are only a few sources and they tend to be nearing $40 PLUS shipping. In other words, if you intend to get a second mag, your deal turns out to be a solid bargain (let alone you can inspect it, as you said).

Be sure to check out the CZ forum under Curios, and also under the CZ83 section, to see what some folks have done to upgrade/refinish, etc.

Let us know how what you do!

Eight - what about the cost of hunting for the handgun, 3 hours drive, and cost of the tank of gas? Factor all that in and you'd have been better off buying a $500 local handgun... just saying that from a purely economical standpoint you got hosed...

A C&R is a short application, a $10 annual fee, and lets you get great deals on guns and supplies sent right to your door. My CZ 82s have been about $210 on average, hand picked, to my front door and almost no time on my end beyond placing the order and signing for the package.

Tank of gas was 25 bucks, plus it got me out of the house and a nice afternoon with the lady. She wanted to go to Ikea down there anyways. No cost in "hunting" for it, as I don't generally make special trips for anything. I just stop places when I'm near by. Still NO where NEAR having one shipped. Plus, the nearest gun store that I care to deal with is a 45 minute drive. I think you've got some awful math skills leadcounsel. J&G Sales is still 220, plus 54 shipping, plus 30 dollar c&r. I realize I CAN buy more than one gun with the c&r, but likely wont. AND the internet guns normally only come with one mag. Mine came with two. Tell me again how I got hosed? Everyones situation is different. Mine dictated that this was the best option FOR ME.

Hello Eight433 Enjoy your pistol and of course try to get even 2 more magazines for it and test them. Sometimes Cabelas has some neet stuff and the ride is worth the enter-tainment. I was at a meeting of my guncollectors association and I started talking to a older member about my new Smith model 24. The first thing he asked was "Where did u buy it?" and I responded my local favorite gunshop to which he bellowed "You paid too much and you should have bought it through a gun with an FFL"'. A good gun shop beside having inventory has other services and waiting for a gun at someones house at 800 at night and prepaying plus paying for shipping is lot of BS. I ws in another club that had an FFL you and you only had to drive 35 miles one way. Plus the ups idiot would drop ur $500 prepaid gun at the front door if no one was home. Besides how u spend your money is no one elses business. Dont pay attentionto the C&R dealer and the other kitchen table dealers. If you (lead counsel if u r reading this) want the dealers liscense "live it up" but dont criticize others and have the nerve to tell them they got hosed.

^^^ That's not a bad deal. Would come out about the same as I paid after the transfer fee. Although you still have to buy it before you inspect it, and that is very hard for me to do with "used" merchandise.

they are great pistols that shoot well. One of the youngest C&R milsurps considering they were made in the 80s & 90s.

I bought one at AIM a few months ago with the 2 mags, holster and free shipping.

The gun is scary accurate. Best $200 gun I ever bought.

You will love it. I swore I was not going to get dies to reload for it but I think I will now. Even with Wolf, Silver Bear at $9 or so a box.

Did I mention how accurate it is?:) Poly rifling so no lead bullets. Oh well.

Wow that is a rather steep transfer.

Tell me about it. 40 is the cheapest around! I've been quoted as high as 75 dollars.
Although the place that gets 40 say it's 40 per order, not per gun, so that's not an aweful deal IF you need more than one gun.
