--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been thinking about scoping one of my K31's. Both are a pleasure to shoot, but I'd still like to see what they could do even with some cheaper optics.
My 1st order is to buy a scope mount. I saw this advertised from AIM. Does anyone have any experience with this http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/S...ope_Mount.html

also, any suggestions on a budget scope? I only have no more than $225 for the glass. I would mainly be shooting from a bench @ 200yds mostly, and likely no more than 300 yds ever. Has anyone else gone this path in this price range? Are you satisfied? How were your results? The K31 is a very smooth trigger and pretty accurate with the iron sights. It seems that it wouldn't take great glass to make it an acceptable shooter (for a milsurp) with lesser optics.

The draw back of low cost optics is how clear the target is. when you get out to 250yds and beyond you start wanting better glass. I have had great results with Mueller and Pentax scopes in the $250-300 price range. Great glass, very clear out to 450 yards, longest shoots I have taken.

That Schmidt Rubin K31 Scope Mount looks like a good one to me.

You want that St. Marie Graphics mount. Period.

The Accumount mount is good too- the rings they send with the mount are garbage though. Never had my mount move on me. I would have bought a ST Marie mount, but Graf's dropped the ball on me- I sent my C&R license and they never answered any of my emails concerning how to get their C&R discount. (this was maybe 4 years ago). Never bothered to do business with them since.

.

I have used the St. Marie's mount and the Accumount that AIM sells.

Both are of excellent quality. The rings that come with the Accumount
are very serviceable.

I use an old Weaver K4 on my K31 hunter. I have found that 4x fixed
power scopes work best for the K31 as they are not eye relief critical.

I like that these mounts do not have a Picatinny type rail, since I dislike the looks of them and they would ruin the classic appearance of the K31. I may have to get one of those mounts.

That is a beautiful rifle, drxring. I ordered mine from Classic Arms, and paid for the hand-select option, and the action and bore are near perfect but the stock is just beat to hell. Where did you get yours?

K 31 mount

Hi .Sorry to have to revive such an old tread.
I have run into a problem scoping my K31 using the St Marie Graphic mount, well is not the mount causing the problem but the scope.i cannot dial down the scope to have lined up with the bore ,at 50' it shoot 5" low at 100" about 7" low and I am at the bottom of the dial.Right now I have a Redfield 2x7 mounted in Tasco rings that I am going to change to steel ring soon ,but i don't think that will make a difference.Do i need a different scope scope?
Any suggestions?
Danny.
