Picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago...Did a fluff n buff on it,had the slide duracoated in OD green and added a hogue grip...I've heard so many pros and cons on KT's but so far this gun has been flawless..Eats everything I've put thru it with no issues...I got a Ross pocket guard for front pocket carry...Good summer carry gun...

Nice gun. I bought one a year ago and it has handled federal, speer, and hornady hollowpoints flawlessly.

But the new Hornady Critical Defense rounds are the most accurate.

Nice Buy

I found mine back in April and wasn't even looking at the time. Had thought about looking at one some time ago, then put the thought away, as I was happy with my Bersa Thunder (still am; don't get me wrong!) But I happened to stop in a LGS while on the job and he had one for what ended up being a very fair price by the time we got done with it. Not the most pleasant plinker in my long-fingered hands, but shoots very well, and shoots what I feed it. It is now my EDC.

Edit: just re-read my post and saw that the last line was "It is not my EDC." That has been corrected.

I've carried a P11 for 14 years now, 100 percent reliable and quite accurate. I love shooting the thing, some don't, but I do. The PF9 came out. Some prefer the trigger, I rather like the longer DA of the P11. The PF9 is thinner by about 0.2", 2 ounces lighter, but I just ain't fixin' what ain't broke. I don't think the PF9 would be much of an upgrade for ME. But, if I was looking to buy a new gun, I'd probably pick the PF9 over the P11 due to it's thinness. It doesn't give up THAT much firepower over the 10 round mags in the P11. I never got any 12 rounders for it. I think 11 rounds on tap is enough. I pocket carry the gun, but do have IWB options.

Nice gun! My father and I both have one. I like the fact that it's small, thin & light but packs a more powerful round than a .380ACP.

Do you know if you have the newer magazine follower or the old one in the magazine? There is an issue with the old follower which ends up not locking the slide back after the last round. This happens because the old mag follower's notch that pushes the slide stop upward after the last round was not cut deep enough originally, which puts excess pressure onto the follower/slide stop because the mag spring tries to push the stop up higher than it can go. Since the follower is plastic the metal slide stop digs into it and deforms it until it doesn't function anymore.

This is an easy fix though, just call or email Kel-Tec and ask for the newer mag followers with the correctly (deeper) cut notch for the slide stop. I emailed them and received the new followers in the mail after about 2 or 3 days. If I get a chance later I will try and post a picture comparing the old and new followers.

Mine has provided the same performance, reliability and security over the past couple of years and thousands of rounds.

Congrats on being man enough to not listen to the haters!

Very nice buy that's one of the guns I think I'm going to have to add to my collection. I like the looks of that duracoat how much does it cost to have something like that done?

Mine has served me well and is a joy to carry. But, it absolutely will not shoot +P 147 grain Golden Sabers. Every other shot jams. I think the OAL is to long for this compact 9 mm.

Best performance with mine was my 9mm of choice...Speer 124gr+P Gold Dots JHP. It's also 100% reliable with the standard pressure same round for training.

Here's a comparison of the old and new magazine follower. The old one on the left has been worn down by the slide stop because the notch was not cut deep enough. The new one on the right has been cut to the correct depth.

I just bought a PF9. Haven't got to shoot it yet, though. I have noticed just handling it, though, that the slide rattles around quite a bit. Is this the norm for the PF9? I just picked up a 1974 Colt 1911 and it is tight as can be.

And, the mag that came with it doesn't hold the slide open, so, I guess I need to get another follower from KT.

Lots of pistols have some slide to frame play, many even rattle. It's normal.

I have the older ones it seems...I've filed them down and haven't had a problem, but I have new ones on the way from KT...

25 bucks...That's all...

I like mine. It's easy to carry, goes bang 100%, and is accurate enough for it's intended purpose. Not the most comfy gun to plink with, but not really all that harsh either. My PF9 is actually less harsh for me to shoot than my P3AT.
I didn't do a fluff'n'buff. The PF-9 is my fourth Kel-Tec pistol and I have yet to perform a fluff'n'buff on any of them. Haven't felt the need, as they've all cycled reliably out of the box.

My only complaint on the PF-9 (and a lot of current pistols) is that damn picatinny rail thingie! I wish they would offer a smooth dust cover also.

I have thought about one for some time, but CANNOT get used to the tiny trigger blade. Every time I pick one up, it pinches me.

I picked one of these up last week, and proceeded to run 200rds of UMC through it without issue. My best group was around 1.5-2" at 5 yards, which isnt much worse than I shoot my XD. Trigger took a little getting used to. I did a couple mag dumps, and I was lucky to hit paper at 5 yards...eek.

The triggers are a mite "bitey"....I use the optional trigger shoes on both my P-11 and PF9. I wouldn't trust the shoe to stay in place though until I had a minimum of 500 rounds through each but neither have moved at all. I used a small dab of Lock-Tite on the screws. Also, I purchased the belt clips for both but prefer holsters for comfort although I keep the belt clip screws/retainers in place.

A lot of people look down their noses at Keltec's but I have found mine to be 100% reliable. The only Keltec I've ever had issues with is my P3AT that has a very sensitive trigger-reset meaning when I fire it, occasionally my finger is touching the trigger enough to prevent firing again until I "toggle" the trigger.

I have a shoe box full of mags for both 9mm's and have not had any trouble with any of them. The P-11 is about 20 years old and the PF9 about 6 years old.

Yeah, there are those who think that Kel-Tecs are not reliable and kind of a lower class pistol. I've had no problems with mine, recoil wasn't as bad as everyone said, and accuracy is decent enough. The thing is just so easy to carry.

The engineers at KT are not slouchers, look at the lineup of interesting arms,,they have done more for the firearm industry than most,,
