I've always wondered if anybody makes suede holsters? Not suede lined but suede on the outside, I think it would be unique. Anyone have pics?

Keep looking, their out there. One of the old Western's I watched yesterday had a suede holster in it. Might have been on Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Stagechoach, or one other movie that I can't remember the name of but it had the Skipper's dad in it as a co-star

Take a look at some rough out holsters. They might give you the look you are looking for and still have the strength of full grain leather.

A suede-covered holster, conceivably, although I don't know offhand of anyone making one or what purpose it would serve. Suede can also be used as a lining, but care must be taken to be sure no grit embeds itself in it. Sweat will rapidly soak through an all-suede holster.

Agreed. In fact, rough-out is a useful feature on IWB holsters, and it puts the smooth side of the leather against the gun as well.

Suede would be too soft, you need a little stiffness in your gunleather, although some are too stiff. Rough-out leather may be more of what you're looking for. Lots of makers do it.

One could conceivably make a holster wherein the inside would be the cowhide leather normally used, while attaching a piece of suede to the exterior. There's a multitude of colors available for suede. I don't know of any value that would be gained by making a holster in that way, save the appearance of it. One of the custom holster makers may be able to help you out.
