I will be traveling tomorrow to Palestine and wondering if anyone knows of a good shop on the way to stop at and stretch my legs.

Livingston, Corrigan, Crockett, will all be on the route. Be taking Hwy 59 and 287 most of the way. I know about Bayou City Rifles and was there last week, so will not stop tomorrow.

I may return by Hwy 79 to Buffalo and back in on I-45. Only a few miles difference in the drive, if there is something good to see.

Thanks,

I dont live in texas, never been there. However, for some reason I like reading stories of good and bad experiences in gunshops, so I will give a bump in hopes of some entertainment.

nalioth I got to the second page of their website and already decided I like them!

If you find a gun online or at an auction then we will transfer the gun to you for a $10.00 fee per gun.

That from a gun shop, normally shops around here are not that value priced on transefers or receptive to them. They feel this internet fad is a threat to em'.

Seem like good folks, Thanks.

If you get as far north as Terrell, I suggest Koning's Gun Shop.
Great place just to stop in and look around. They don't make gun shops
like that anymore.

Chaddicks in Terrell is also very good, old double barrels extremely high grade stuff. I have probably spent more there than anywhere else. He is downtown, and doors are always locked so no casual walk in traffic. I always call and make an appointment so they will know that I am coming. The last time I was left to fondle a couple of Parker doubles that had no price tags, later I saw them on his internet site for $135,000 and 125,000 ea plus six very high grade engraved L.C. Smith's that were in the lower mid 5 figure range each.

Noonday gun trader in Tyler, as well as High Noon Mercantile, both on Hwy 155 S.and then Mac's gun shop downtown on E. Elm. Gander Mountain has an excellent selection but prices are a bit on the high side.

The best shops in Texarkana are the mom and pop shops. We have a Gander Mountain but their prices are absurd. If you pass through stop at P&J Guns on New Boston Road and Tri-State Pawn on State Line. The first is a family owned shop with great prices and the latter is a pawn shop that also stocks hundreds of new guns. They have decent prices and I've always been able to talk them into lowering them down to great...also they give top dollar for trade ins.

Buffalo Sporting Goods in Buffalo - owner is very friendly.

If you get up to Tyler, Noonday Gun Trader is a very nice shop. Prices are lower than most.

Thanks guys,

Wanted to stop in Buffalo, but ran out of time, and they closed before I could get there.

The folks I met with said the pickings are slim up there. Most mail order their ammo, etc.
